Finally caught out; one game too many with depleted squad and against a far superior team in terms of skill and passing ability. I'm sure most supporters will be delighted with 12 points at this stage, especially if asked before the season started. We need the international break but unlikely to be many returners to bolster the squad straightaway.
Furthermore, McGoldrick will probably get injured in Keane's hands in the next two weeks.
Despite the result today I'm hopeful that my pre-season forecast of 12th place will be bettered.

Had to be one of the most disappointing Town displays I have seen.

A game too far for our depleted squad, against a good footballing Fulham side that belied their early season form. It is perhaps worth a mention that they played us off the park last year, when we had a full squad available.
The Fulham midfield was the key to their win, totally dominating a poor Town midfield in which Ward was anonymous, Skuus too stretched, Sears pushed back to help Kenlock and Waghorn totally lost in trying to help Iorfa who Fulham exploited. Bart kept us in the game, Knudsen looked quite outstanding as a leftsided centreback while McGoldrick showed class, but today chose the wrong options on too many occasions. August overall, has been a great month, a 12 point haul with a desimated squad, youth players coming to the fore, one of which Downes, should have played today. Town beat Millwall away 4-3, Norwich lose to the same opposition 3-0.

We were not awful, Fulham just showed how good they are and they will be in the top six for sure. However, Iorfa was disappointing, absolutely nowhere near his man at all in the first half. Bart saved us from being about 5 down so well done him. This aside, we have had a terrific August and I didn't think we'd be second at this stage. Just keep everyone fit, and hopefully we can pick up some decent results against Derby and QPR, who both lost today. Also, going into the into the international break, perfect chance for Mick to sign a centre half. Unlucky and outplayed today.

Harling blue, good comment, but Norwich lost 4-0.

I was disappointed that MM got tactics so wrong against a side that he knew would out pass and out pace Town. There wasn't much he could do with the defence and while both fullbacks were exposed by their attacking fullbacks, I thought both Spence and Jonas had good games esp Jonas. They're fitting together quite well and both look to move ball forward.
However our midfield were overrun. Skuse couldn't cope and his passing was poor. I get it that he does compete but he rarely turns into space and so often just passes back to nearest Town player. Ward had a poor game too. But the rest didn't seem to know what shape they were playing and left wide open spaces for Fulham to exploit. Downes should have started with Celina to have 442 which may have stopped their raids down the wings and give more competition in centre.
That would have left Garner and McG in front and perhaps they'd have better chances. Waggy and Sears could then have been subs.
I hope this game isn't the start of MM going back to last season's dross and that he'll use the break to get team playing possession football. The stats so far don't look good!

I am nitpicking now, but I really think Downes should start. He is so calm and comfortable on the ball, could have made a difference today. Beaten by a better team, and if we were full strenght I hope that we would be able to give them a fight. Good start to the season anyway, just hope that we will continue to develop. We still need some more quality to our attacking game.
