Watford were very good down here and seemed certain to win promotion to the Premier League after that performance. But consistency is key in the Championship and they were unable to maintain that form and ultimately lost out.

Given the changes to the loan rules that they exploited so extensively and the probable loss of some of their better players, it'll be interesting to see whether the Hornets will be a similar threat this time around.

Champions Cardiff weren't overly impressive in either game against the Blues, they ground things out rather than fizzing with style and guile.

The other automatically promoted side Hull were very good at the KC Stadium in particular, while play-off champs Palace taught us a bit of a lesson at Selhurst Park, even if the referee was particularly generous in awarding them three penalties in 11 minutes.
