Leadbitter Again in Team of the Week Mon 19th Mar 2012
Town midfielder Grant Leadbitter has been named in the Championship Team of the Week for the second week running. The 26-year-old scored the Blues’ opening goal in the 3-2 victory over Peterborough having netted twice in the 2-2 draw at Hull last week.
Coventry City 2-3 Town Sat 04th Feb 2012
Michael Chopra’s last-gasp winner saw the Blues to a dramatic 3-2 victory over Coventry at the Ricoh Arena. Town went ahead through a deflected Jay Emmanuel-Thomas shot but allowed the home side back into the game before the break via a Sammy Clingan penalty and Gary Deegan. However, in the second half Chopra followed up Lee Martin’s penalty to equalise, then clinched all three points at the death.

Paul Jewell’s Town got back to winning ways with a comfortable 3-0 live Sky victory over Coventry City at Portman Road. A Martin Cranie own goal opened the scoring in the first half with Keith Andrews adding the second soon after and Jason Scotland sealing it after the break.

Boss Paul Jewell looks likely to make a number of changes to his side for Scunthorpe’s visit to Portman Road on Saturday but says his options are limited until he can bring in his own players in the summer. Town keeper Brian Murphy came on as a second half sub for the Republic of Ireland in a training game against the Republic’s amateur international side in Dublin yesterday. The professionals won the game 2-0 with Celtic’s Cillian Sheridan and Hull’s Paul McShane scoring the goals.
