Seems odd/a shame if we have no
Chance of any future money or buy back for Dobra or Edwards

Is Edmundson injured?
at 17:23 21 Jan 2023

Seem to remember him coming on for Donacien recently when he was poorly but EADT saying he was only on the bench as cover as he was carrying a knee injury. Seems he’s not fully recovered from injury at the end of last season. I’d say we’re missing him.

Next manager

I can’t really argue with cowley or cook. But my preference would be Michael Appleton from Lincoln. You could argue he took over from the cowleys and has made Lincoln even better. Top 5 now playing decent football. If he could get us playing the same way and we kept the likes of bishop, Edwards and one from Norwood and Jackson fit you’d like to think we could do better than his current team

Should Town change their manager?
at 12:08 26 Nov 2020

I think there should be a wait and see option. Bear with me...

This season he introduced 433 and a possession based style of play. It takes time for players to adapt to a new way of playing. Given time and less injuries to our key attacking players (Edwards, Bishop, Dozzell, KVY) and having our best defensive players fully fit (Woolf, Downes) then I believe we'd become better at how we play this style and grow in confidence especially in attack.

The questions begs why has it taken him so long to get here? Why does he say the academy needs to play like the first team when actually I think the academy have been playing possession passing football for years but then the first team haven't.

I admit it is hard to see 2/3 wins and the performances coming in the next 3 games, but what if they did?

The other side is - whoever we bring in to replace him, can't change the personnel. We cannot sell 3-4 players or even give them away for free and bring in a killer striker and (another) new full back or wingers, because of this stupid salary cap!

If someone else comes in - personally - I would stick with 433 but only ever play Edwards, Lankester, Dobra or maybe occasionally Sears or Jackson, in the wide roles. I wouldn't play Judge or Huws full stop. I'd tell them to attack attack attack and when they don't have the ball close down rapidly and make it hard for the opposition to find room. Surely that would be enough to get us going? Can't Lambert see that? Would Cook or Dyer or anyone else do exactly that??

Andre challenge looks high from this angle...
at 11:16 5 Nov 2020

If the appeal is to be successful, hopefully the panel will see a) Dozzell was pushed and b) he actually got to the ball before Leadbitter - you can see Leadbitter actually kicks him in the leg thinking the ball would be there but it had already gone - after Dozzell made contact.

I CAN SEE why the ref gave a red - because he had himself in a poor position (must have, because he must have missed the push and not seen Dozzell kick the ball first) plus he only gets one look at it. I think it was the wrong decision and hopefully overturned as Dozzell had played every minute or every game until then and him, Bishop, Lankester was looking a decent trio in that game.

Shame you can't retrospectively appeal penalties!

Still angry - hope the team are too
at 11:09 5 Nov 2020

I'm still massively annoyed about what transpired on Tuesday night - hope the team are too and use it against Pompey and beyond (I'm waiting to waste some money on betting on a reaction from us!) - but instead wanted to look at the positives.
McG slipped for the first goal and probably won't do that again and it would be near impossible to replicate the circumstance for their second goal so we'll allow him a blip and sure he will be stronger for it. Woolfenden should be back - again - soon. Still no idea why Wilson isn't playing instead of Toto. Toto is an accident waiting to happen and his accidents are happening more frequently just like last season.
We're passing the ball around - ok not enough in the attacking 3rd or generally creating enough, but it's a new style for this season and it's an improvement on last and we will get there I'm confident. The more you play one style the better accustomed to it that you get. And as stated by many, we looked a lot better after our goal - so we can do it, it's just a confidence thing. Stick with it boys.
Shame we didn't do this last season - at least Lambert and his team have learned from their mistakes. Can't ask for more than that (this season).
Shame we've been disrupted by injuries - that's been the main reason for rotation this season.
Lambert wanted 5 subs this season. He rarely uses any. Poor old Bennetts has come on in the 89th, 84th and 89th (again) minutes. Might as well not bother with those subs.
What's happened to Huws? Came on in the 76th minute against Gillingham and not seen since. This whilst Nolan was suspended. If he doesn't get any game time when Dozzell is suspended, especially against Crawley, why didn't we just get rid of him in the summer?

Go and get the Cowley brothers!
at 10:02 20 Jul 2020

We've been told for years that the academy style should mirror the first team - but actually the first team has been all over the place style wise and I can't think of when it has ever been like the academy.
We NEED to get out of this division. Leeds used Simon Grayson to get out of it then needed Bielsa (and a tonne of money!) to get them out of the championship. It's horses for courses - we need a manager/squad to get us up - I think the Cowleys would do that. Not saying they would ever lead us to the prem. At least they have a style and are consistent - which is more than I can say for Lambert

Go and get the Cowley brothers!
at 09:07 20 Jul 2020

Did anyone else see Huddersfield sacked the Cowley brothers yesterday after guiding then from 23rd to 18th and safety?! Did we miss a trick not getting them before from Lincoln? I say Marcus should go and get them right now before someone else does!

Brentford v Ipswich Town: Pre-Match Press Conference
at 15:28 5 Apr 2018

Hopefully the new man to come in will have a decided style of play and be able to buy and sell where necessary to get players in the team to fit his style - then give them time to develop and hope some youngsters come through. Seems pointless bringing in a manager that doesn't have a passing style when that's what we're asking the academy lads to do

Yes things could have been different were it not for injuries to Bishop, Huws AND Dozzell all at the same time (Adeyemi is a totally different type of player to those 3 ball players) but fact is those injuries happened, Mick then chopped and changed the players, formation, style and tactics and completely lost it with the fans (all of them) because he got fed up with the comments from a minority (although still a lot). So things could have been different if Mick hadn't finally succumbed to the pressure and lost his way. ME is definitely at fault - you can't sell your top scorer, talisman and focal point for the attack and not replace him, plus ME knows less about football than any of us and Milne even less, yet these are the men above Mick to support him?!
