Mowbray to Step Away From Birmingham to Undergo Medical Treatment
at 12:13:39

This guy is a legend at Ipswich and I am sure everyone who supported IT during his time at this club of ours will want to wish him a quick recovery and all our support to his family. God bless to you all. Amazing memories of his time at the centre of defence and his raised hand indicating that the visitors were off side. Knowing how tough an opponent he was on the pitch whatever his illness is it doesn't stand a chance. Common Tony and good luck.

McKenna: In the First Half Everything That Could Go Wrong, Did Go Wrong
at 11:42:03

Lets all get this in proportion. Only four defeats all season! McK genius. Town are mixing it with last year's Premiership teams with money sloshing about in their pockets. Yes we don't have the strongest defence in the league but with new additions up front we stand a good chance of reaching a top two place. We have to believe in our manager and back the team through this period and build on the positives. There is much to be thankful for when you consider where we were not that long ago. The board have backed the manager and we must do so too. He not only managers the players well but talks with fluency, honesty and intelligence. Previous managers have just been full of sound bites and little else. Even some of the top managers sometimes will get it wrong! COYB

Ainsworth: There Was Nothing in the Game
at 17:40:49

As already posted Sinclair Armstrong would be a nailed on starter for us. We were a little fortunate to get away with a clean sheet but never the less what a great poacher's goal from Chaplin he didn't stay down and was first to react and score a goal. Thats why he is our best forward on the pitch relentless and determined to score. He is inspirational but a good team effort well done the blues yet again all over the pitch.

Chaplin: Probably the Perfect Away Performance
at 12:22:58

Definitely feels like the really old days again. Started teaching in 1970 and went to almost all the home games in my first teaching post despite having to teach on a Saturday morning. Away games were almost impossible. In McK there has been a long overdue change in footballing styles which he has bought to the club. I just hope the board sees what a great manager in the making we have. The players he has assembled is not accidental and most will do well next year in the Championship. This is a must year as we haven't seen the like for a long time. COYB Well done to the whole squad what a pleasure to watch.

Three Changes For Town at Bolton
at 14:30:36

Oh dear hope this not a change too many. MCK has been very shrewd recently, just hope he is right again. Bolton are a strong team but we can only hope the changes will unsettle them and not us. Great to see Dom back in the team list COYB

Tinker ye not said Frankie Howard. If we change, change only one at the beginning so the team feel as they know where each will be. Great win what anyone says to the contrary because a team that had shipped 10 goals previously are the most difficult to beat because their pride had been very bruised. So, well done 'THE TEAM' COYB

Barton: McKenna a Man Under Pressure
at 11:38:10

I fully understand what he is saying. If Town were as good as the top three would they have beaten Rovers? We are just inept tactically when against teams do a Rovers on us. I doubt whether Bolton Derby or the top two would have tolerated Joey Barton's tactics. Continuing to playing the way we do is getting us no where quickly and that's the nub of it. Can McK wise up or are we incapable of promotion because he is intransigent. Worrying times in the slow lane.

McKenna: No Getting Away From It, Four Wins From 15 is Not Good Enough
at 07:26:37

To be very honest on here the atmosphere has changed and understandably so. The game is a simple one just score more goals than the opposition and we're just not doing that and then add that those around us in the division like Derby and Bolton, historically are old rivals are smashing oppositions out of sight. On our present course we will be lucky to make even the playoffs. I do think MCK is a good coach but a good manager has that extra dimension that seems to be missing. That sounds harsh but he has now an opportunity to show whether he has that or not. If he hasn't then the owners will say goodbye. He has to be fair, been given amazing funding but tactically on the pitch his results have been very very patchy since Christmas. Not just MCK but everyone is disappointed but that alone doesn't get the club promotion. FGR on Saturday is not just a win but also the way we play and win. Lose and its curtains. The players and supporters want to win in style and that rests on MCK's tactical understanding and assessment of how to break down defences and create space for our players to score. COYB

Ipswich Town 2-2 Sheffield Wednesday - Match Report
at 15:10:02

If a select few of the supporters on here could keep their puerile comments on here to their themselves it would be great. Personally I think they should be banned for a while and kept off this site until they calm down. People's opinions are in the main far more pertinent than slagging each other off. The match play is far more important and it is interesting! Themes like rotation, substitutions, selection and tactics is what this platform is about. As to the manager, well, only the board will make that decision. The match was a great one to watch as a neutral but as a supporter of the club it was a losing two points disappointment. Like others on here I think rotation especially in this league and particularly in defence is a no no. The team has to rely on the defence knowing each other well and having a system of cover when tackles are lost anywhere on the pitch. As to hopes of promotion, on recent form and the way the top six are winning comfortably on a regular basis, we will be lucky to be in the play offs unless the new lads can start banging them in very soon. Is McK the man for the job, only the next few games will tell. I hope so. I want him to have promotion this season with ITFC as I think he has great potential.

Hirst: That Needs to Be Our Base Level of Performance
at 16:33:20

I am hoping that the quality that a premiership player brings to the side will be reflected in our results. George Hirst appears to have those qualities to add to the attack as we have plenty of suppliers to the attacking forwards. If we beat The Owls on Saturday then it should give a much needed boost to confidence which I have thought has been missing despite the odd win. You see it in the way The Owls boss the play even against he Pilgrims. Those on here who denigrate some of our players need to shut up and keep their thoughts and insults in their own company. " We don't need dark sarcasm" what the players need is applause and encouragement even when they don't always deliver their best its then up to the manager not us because the supporters don't know the full facts. So lots of support and noise on Saturday COYB we want out of this bl**dy division.

McKenna: Proud of the Players and Proud of the Supporters
at 23:17:36

Not unexpected but the lads did exactly what they were capable of and that's compete at Championship level. well done to all the team and training ground staff. So proud to be a town supporter for over 60 years. Brilliant evening especially for those supporters who went. We just need to translate this display into every week in this league we find ourselves. COYB make it happen again against Wednesday and show them how the town can really play.

McKenna: Two Big Games, We'll Take Each One as It Comes
at 15:56:37

Unfortunately we are way off a win tonight on our current form. I am old enough to remember thrashing Burnley at home 5-1 I think was the final score. I wish the boys every success tonight and whatever the final score we have made progress this year. The most important thing tonight is to make Burnley work really hard and set our faces like flint against the storm tonight because that is what it will take. ITFC are in the process of change and change for the good. As supporters we are 25000 against all comers and that is what the players on the field must think that they are not alone. So COYB

McKenna: First Half Well Below the Acceptable Standard
at 14:15:42

A bit like the Chinese spy balloon another deflating episode. I want nothing more than success for our club but unless there is a change of direction draws and an occasional win will see us slowly continue to drop out of even a chance of a playoff position. With our firepower in this league we should be out of sight by now. Our performances are woeful and I cannot see us on this form getting out of this league. MCK has done wonders for this club but his on the field tactics appear to have dried up. Is his time up or should the board continue with him as The Team Coach? An alternative if he would accept it, would be help because if he doesn't the team will continue in the same fashion. He has been brilliant and the board too for acquiring top rated players but they are underperforming FACT. Everyone top to bottom need to meet and thrash out the problem fast before the rot really takes hold. There is time to turn the form around but twiddling thumbs is not the answer. SO COYB and do something different both on and off the field. I want, as many on here, to be thrashing Norwich on the pitch next year!

Ipswich Town 4-0 Morecambe - Match Report
at 22:45:19

This result is a great tonic and the new lads must stay on the team sheet especially Clarke who as someone said on here looks to be a future team captain. The whole team played well which is the real deal. Surely the rotation must stop soon and give us some identity and the beginning regularity which players can get to understand where others are going to be to pass to especially in attack as well as in defence. Consistency consistency consistency is the name of the game. Well played everyone COYB

McKenna: Once We Win a Game or Two, the Narrative and Situation Look Very Different
at 16:27:57

Just make sure the defence are tight and the forwards are sharp and well supplied MCK that's all this game is about! That's something we seem to have forgotten recently. Unless we get back to winning ways and fast no manager is safe. American business don't tolerate losers and its about getting out of this league this year! They've spent big money this year and expect a big return! The supporters have done their bit by turning up in their thousands as have the supporting and background staff. COYBs it's time to get out of this league and back to where we should be challenging for promotion and not just in the championship. Drawing games and losing is not ITFC now.

EFL Matches Postponed as Mark of Respect
at 15:44:51

The Queen has shown the country and the world what loyalty is. Few people on here should think a little more deeply about what they are saying. Service to her people, us, and those all over the world owe her a gratitude and respect of what she means to this nation. It's ONE match no more; surely our need to give up one game as a mark of respect is not that much of a sacrifice even if you're not a monarchist. We have become very cynical and obsessed with our own pleasure. This is a once in a lifetime event respecting not just someone but our queen who has given her lifetime to her nation. Yes, she has had a life of privilege, but I would rather my life of anonymity and not having the scrutiny she has had to endure. So, we miss a game which will be seen at a further date! Not much to endure surely. COYB we are better than that surely. Find something else to do tomorrow and enjoy the fact you don't have to attend some function you'd rather not be at because you've committed yourself to a lifetime of selflessness.
