| Forum Thread | Alot of supporters not fancying our chances in play offs at 11:13 12 Apr 2024
I disagree. If we can utilise this fortnight break to get Burns and Hirst back in contention. Then we have 3 games to get promoted. Win lose or draw against Middlesbrough I think we can still do it with 9 points from those games. Even if we don't, going into play offs with a full squad would make us a formidable opponent and personally I think we would come out on top in the final. PS ... I don't think Norwich will even make it !! |

Same age and feeling same way. Never expected us to be here in April, but if we can get our form back tonight and keep it for another 4 games , the miracle has happened |

I don't think he has any chance of making it unless he is recovered. Most of us know the problems of a back spasm |
| Forum Thread | The next 3 games, all televised on sky at 08:13 29 Mar 2024
While I do understand town fans , particularly those living in Norfolk ,are fed up with hearing how long it is since we've beaten them , I do draw the line at taking 2 defeats over this weekend for a win at Carrot road ! ìt might be the biggest game of the season but it's still just 3 points. Today's game is vital. If we çan continue where we left off against Sheffield then I have every confidence we will go to naarrich with 6 points under our belt and settle a long outstanding score. |
| Forum Thread | New year.. old problem at 06:41 30 Dec 2023
We have been in a similar position under Marcus Evans stewardship. Near the top of the championship going into the new year, needing new blood to sustain a challenge. On that occasion we recieved nothing from Evans to help us maintain a challenge. I think we will see significant signings this January. But will it be enough to hold our position in the top 2 ? Personally , looking at that performance last night against QPR , I think it is highly unlikely we can afford or remain in FFP rules to strengthen this squad enough to gain automatic promotion. If McKenna does achieve it with the 3 or 4 we will get through the door next month , It would be possibly the greatest achievement any manager has performed at the club. |

No. As I am sure I just stated , Leeds have no one going to international competition , so it affect us more than them. ( I can't believe I'm having to write this ) |
| Forum Reply | International call ups at 08:42 23 Dec 2023
No. My mistake, I thought they had a couple of internationals from Africa countries. They aren't losing anyone as it stands. But if we beat them today, it won't matter anyway. |
| Forum Thread | International call ups at 08:03 23 Dec 2023
Are going to affect championship clubs in January/ February. As it stands ( with no call up for Morsy) I think we can handle losing a couple of players, albeit in the same position of CB. Both Leicester and Leeds have far bigger problems. In my opinion we would be looking to strengthen at the back, even without losing Burgess and Baggott, I do think this might test McKenna the most, centre backs are not easily prized away from clubs in January, particularly good ones. Another forward is the other must have, so if its £3 million we have lined up for two players , hopefully we can find what we need. |
| Forum Thread | Dividing the season into blocks at 06:11 25 Nov 2023
Which are separated by the international breaks , gives everyone the opportunity to chart our progress this season. Using those measures, I would now see the first block as very much a measure of what we are capable of achieving in this league and can be seen as a resounding success. Not only did we maintain our form , in many games we improved it. The second block then commenced with the team exceeding expectations and the big question was could we sustain that sort of form and those results . After a bit of a false start with the postponement of the Rotherham game meaning we had gone well over 2 weeks without a competitive game , we all know they more than sustained a challenge in this league, all be it , with some frailty appearing in our defence in the last two or three games. We now head into a third block of games which will run through until the new year and round three of the F.A. cup. This section will be the most difficult for us and may well be the block which defines our season. Up untill now, we have lost one league game, I don't think it is too outrageous to suggest we will lose more than one game between now and New year. How many will we lose ? That is the question which will define our season. . And how we deal with those setbacks. Personally I believe if we can get to january and still be sitting in the top 2 , we have achieved a remarkable feat and something which will stand us in good stead for the remainder of the season. There are some incredibly difficult games coming up, many of them on tv. Let's enjoy them with the full knowledge that for the club as a whole , things have only got better. Much better than those dark days in league one. |
| Forum Thread | Win , lose or draw today... at 08:21 11 Nov 2023
We are in dreamland , we really are. Yes , I can understand supporters getting caught up in the possibility of automatic promotion. But rewind to the start of the season and many of us would have been happy to stay in this league and build from there. So to be where we are now is way beyond most people's expectations. Having said all that , it would , of course now be very nice to stay in contention and go up at the first attempt, with the provision that this season is already a successful one no matter what happens over the Christmas fixture list. In my opinion, our league position will be dependent upon getting our defending balance right and finding the best combination to achieve that. At the moment we concede too many goals to sustain a challenge, but I do believe we can correct this , maybe not entirely from our current squad , but I'm sure a couple of extra additions in January can tilt things in our direction . I am sure our owners will be willing to take a sizable punt if we remain in our current position. |
| Forum Reply | Last seasons January window at 06:58 29 Oct 2023
It only makes us vulnerable if they don't do the right things when we haven't got the ball. Which is more or less what McKenna was saying after the game. If the players that we have continue to do that , we will have problems in my opinion. |
| Forum Thread | Last seasons January window at 06:18 29 Oct 2023
Concentrated on midfield and attacking players. This season it will be defenders. No team can rely on a goalkeeper to keep making 3 or 4 blinding saves to keep them in the game. All 4 at the back yesterday seemed to be caught out at times by the Plymouth forwards, especially Whitaker , a strong and aggressive striker. I don't know if Tuanzebe will be one answer to our defensive problems, but judging by Kieron McKenna after match interview , he is well aware of our weaknesses. At the moment we are producing the chances and goals to cover it up. That may not always be the case with the games to come, and definitely not if we go up. |
| Forum Reply | If the rain in Rotherham at 08:12 20 Oct 2023
I have relations in Sheffield , who inform me this morning that it has been raining most of the night but its "steady" rain not a deluge. I would have thought an inspection will be announced before 9am if its in any doubt. |
