Hurst: We May Have to Be Patient on Signings
at 17:02:39

As I've said Bluehook, all along, Hurst is Mick V2.0.

This isn't a bad thing but his appointment isn't a huge departure from what we had.

Paul Hurst’s Time at Shrewsbury — A History in Seven Matches
at 16:40:34

As I suspected - it's MM V2.0

This is not a bad thing as such - as clearly Hurst will be working under exactly the same financial constraints as Mick.

Hopefully, we see some proper width under Hurst and maybe putting a team out to win as opposed to not concede. That being said, it's clear Hurst is pragmatic and happy to win by the odd goal.

Fingers crossed for the future.

Milne: We've Got the Top Manager in His Age Group
at 12:16:44

@midastouch

That's the point, Mick had 'limited' funds - this won't change, in short, the financial landscape remains the same as when Mick was in charge. You won't see us shelling out millions. A few hundred K here and there for the likes of Waghorn or Huws, that will be it.

@midastouch

No, the Club and Marcus made that patently clear a long time ago. Any new incumbent would be working under the same financial constraints as Mick was.

We Need to Talk About Kevin
at 17:07:53

Ah Kevin Bru - there is indeed talent there - he can thread a pass and is certainly a more forward thinking player but, the problem is very simple.

He drifts in and out of games far too easily.

He is too lightweight for this division.

He has yet to impress over a 90 min spell.

Therefore, as decent as he is, he's no more than a squad player/ impact sub.

McCarthy: More Pressure on Me After Cup Changes
at 19:11:51

@fatcatevans - I'm not forgetting the history at all - as I stated, I didn't know how long a fan penguin has been, therefore I went back to the early eighties, a mere 30 odd years ago.

I cannot comment on the football back in the sixties as I didn't witness that, or the 50's but I most certainly watched the 70's onwards - and throughout the majority of the 70's were were a direct team.

So, we have a period in the 50's and 60's where we played some good football, the 70's less so, early to mid 80's we did - but from there on in - it's been mixed to say the least.

The notion of us being a 'footballing' Club is a misnomer as I have stated.
