Another MMM. McKenna Managerial Masterclass. Reads the game so well. Plymouth came with a plan and it worked for the first half. MMM stepped in and made the changes necessary. Bringing Harness on towards the end was excellent, he was the only player in the side who realised the game needed slowing down and seeing out. Great result for us against a really strong opponent. Got to keep perspective. At the moment we’re nearly a quarter of the way through the season. We’re playing good football and managing to score plenty. We’ve had no major injury scares and the Town is buzzing. However there’s a long way to go, and winter is coming (said Jon Snow)…. Our defence certainly needs more tweaking as some of the goals we’re conceding are poor.

Was at the game and we were ok. It's interesting to note that playing “football” out from the back does seem to suit us playing higher league clubs. The division we're currently in is full of teams who just don't want to play. McK has to learn that. It's no good playing out from the back in division 3. Overall we acquitted ourselves well. Considering they slaughtered the scum a few days ago we can hold our heads u we were more than a match for them albeit some of their players ooze quality.
The defence do have to learn to calm down. There's panic sometimes and rushed decision making which leads to needless loss of the ball. Time to concentrate on the league, tighten up in defence and try to push forward more often. UPPA TOWEN |

It's a simple analysis really. KMc is schooled in footballing coaching. Too many teams in this Sunday league don't play football. That means KMc is unable to figure out a response to it. At the start of this season I'd have called the play offs an excellent result. Please be realistic. We're far off the team we could be at the moment. There are plenty of games left. We've made superb progress under KMc and, let's be honest, had we not been top two most of the season we'd be singing his praises. If we miss out on auto and end up in play offs, whatever happens then, we're still a far better club than we've been for the last 5-6 years. UPPA TOWEN |

Agree with all the positivity above, a truly good performance and the keeper was good. However, one negative, we've got to stop playing ourselves into trouble while playing out from the back. It's cost us a few points this season and could be the difference between play offs and auto. I understand K. Mc is coaching them to play out from the back and has eradicated the hoof ball developed by McCarthy and Lambert but are these players good enough to carry it out successfully?

The game I just watched comprised two teams. One was a slick, fast passing outfit whose players mover around continuously and won everything in the air. The other was slow, outplayed and relied on hoof ball too often. MK Dons will wonder how they dropped two points today. I hope it's not too long before Town team gel and get their act together but at the moment we really haven't improved much from last season albeit at times we looked ok. I'm not being unfair or deliberately knocking Town, but we have much to improve upon. Uppa Towen…. |
