It's not the end of the world but it's just not good enough. It's probably why we won't get promoted this season. Goals are what win games not possession. We have scored goals but we've also given away so many soft goals. We never manage to kill off teams and most teams work the strategy - let Ipswich have possession for 25 minutes get one shot on goal and score then put 11 players behind the ball. Ipswich can't get through to the goal line. Stop the constant rotations. The new signings are supposed to make a difference but they can't if they're on the bench- if they're not good enough then why buy. |

A retrospective ban won't assist us. Sending someone off would have changed the game. We are regularly suffering at the hands of officials in this league. How many fouls did their number 14 have to commit to get a second yellow but didn't. He must have felt lucky yesterday. I was surprised to see us getting awarded the penalty. |

I really hope that games like these are where we fail to get promotion this season. It's the same story always. Lots of possession but our inability to put the ball in the back of the net as always. The opposition get one chance and get a give away goal. We work hard for the rest of the game but have no players that can finish the moves. Our set plays are mostly pointless and a very rare thing that culminates in us having a shot. Jackson has loads of energy and works hard but he isn't a finisher. Freddie is the same many chances but will score a few. We need a goal scorer that can make something out of nothing and can be there to score. |

Why do we have to try and defend a 1 goal lead for 90 minutes. We keep losing leads by being lethargic. Losing the ball giving it back again. Having no energy or desire to go win it back. Fleetwood wanted the ball they kept the ball and made us look second best. When we get chances to go top of the league we blow it. That's at least 6 points we've lost from winning positions. |

Disappointing that we couldn't get a cup win. Shades of previous seasons- loads of possession - in our own half and slow to push forward - something we've fallen short of in previous seasons - a lack of desire to have a shot on goal - yes we had 25 but had many more opportunities to have a go but didn't. I know this is a new team but it would have been nice to have seen us win a cup game instead of going out in the first round. |

The ref was awful as usual. Giving the opposition free kicks every time they fell over. They knew it and played for it every time. Even when diving they still got the free kick. The PA system was awful - announcements were muffled and couldn't hear them and they didn't bring changes on the electronic board. Didn't even put goal scorers on the board. |

Many changes today at Portman Road today - the team - the manager - the ground. One thing that hasn't changed though is the level of officiating at games. The first goal came from what should have been a throw in for us after it being about a foot over the sideline. If our player had made the tackle on Dobra against a Milwall player it would have been a straight red. I had heard so much about the new keeper and how awesome he was. Today I didn't see any of that even Bart was more likely to come off his line than our keeper. All three goals came from our defence not closing down. Yes it was a friendly today but I sincerely see more bite next week than today. I don't think we would have scored today even if we played another 30 minutes- echoes of many of the last few seasons. |

Now he knows how we feel- when we get a lead we struggle to keep it - when I saw we went ahead I knew it wouldn't last. That's been our issue for about 4 seasons- we can't score a prolific amount of goals- normally 1 per game. That's why we were relegated from the championship not because we really played badly but because we couldn't score goals. I liked Jackson and Norwood and being too scorers when we bought them but neither have been prolific since we bought them. |

What a load of tosh. There are a lot of points to play for but with so many home games to come I'm not hopeful of gaining many of them. Our home form is dire. One win in many is only a sticking plaster over our shortcomings. We can't score goals and that's what wins games. We have lacked goals for many seasons. That's a big contributory factor to relegation from the championship. We should have brought in another striker in the transfer window. We get so many chances to score but continually fail to produce the goods. We kept possession for 40 minutes yesterday and couldn't put the ball in the back of the net. Oxford had one chance with our mistake and managed to score. At that point all they had to do was defend which they did. They were pressing right till the last minute and we kept going back and sideways but not forward. Even for being top of the table at the end of the year I can't see us making even the playoffs. |

80% possession means nothing when there's no end product. We are being outdone by our own mistakes. We're continually giving the ball straight back and failing to push forward. Let's sort it out. We spent too much time passing the ball around and going backwards. When will they learn that we can't win a game without pushing forward. PL seems clueless and doesn't know how to make a substitution to make a difference. When Oxford made their substitutions they chased the ball and didn't give us a chance to play. Before they scored we spent 40 minutes playing in their half and the only chances they had came from our mistakes and failure to hold onto the ball. Again another decision made by an official after protests from a player. He didn't see it as he didn't flag only decided once the player made a stamping gesture. What happened to having to win our home games there was no desire to win that game. |

There is a reason - our inability to score goals and kill games off. Many games we've had 60 70% possession which means nothing if we can't put the ball in the back of the net. The teams near the top of the table regularly score 2-3-4 goals. That's a small miracle for us. Many games we have won or lost by one goal. We needed to bring in a proven goal scorer in Jan to match the efforts of the other top teams. |

I don't understand what PL is trying to achieve. In our current form we'll be lucky to make playoffs. We are currently playing like we did under MM. we look like we don't want to go past the halfway line. There is no urgency to push forward and spend our time passing backwards and sideways and to the opposition. Every time an opposition player gets sent off it looks like the opposition has the advantage of an extra player. We had 20 minutes of playing against 10 men and the opposition keeper wasn't forced to make a save unless picking it out of the air from a corner. It was like we were scared to go forward and press even fans knew time was running out but still we passed sideways and backwards.
We need to find urgency to go forward and press for goals. Rovers were being give mountains of space and were gifted goals with no difficulty.
The team need to start scoring goals and winning games or we will be spending another season in the awful league. I hope KVY comes back to rescue our season. |
