| News Comment | Broadhead and Moore's Wales Out to Secure Euro 2024 Place at 14:02:55
Good luck to all involved. But I can't help thinking that a team that finishes third in a group of five should not be getting a second chance at it......and that's putting it very politely. Its a bloody joke to be honest. |
| News Comment | McKenna: Improving Wednesday Certainly Not One of the Lower Teams in the Division at 18:39:50
Get out of the blocks quicker, play further up the park with a lot more pace and intensity, get balls into the box instead of getting into the final third and working it back to Hladky. Try your luck from 25yards instead of pretending to be the Barcelona side of 2010 and attempting to score the perfect goal. Less piddling about at the back, less standing on the edge of our own box for 3mins playing meaningless one-twos and putting the sh*ts up everyone. Let's play with the freedom that epitomised us and scared the life out of teams earlier in the season, instead of having to sit through 70mins of the most formulaic of dross before realising that we have to get out of first gear if we want to get anything from the game. I've no doubt we'll have to do it the hard way again tomorrow. |
| News Comment | Evans Aiming to Return to On-Fire Town Form at Pompey at 10:21:07
Fully fit I'd still pick him ahead of Taylor, Travis, Ball and Harness. We saw a lot of very very good stuff from Lee Evans, but we possibly never saw the best. Portsmouth gives him the opportunity of another few seasons at a very high level.....perhaps and likely to be coming up against us next season. |

PutneyBlue.....I've been saying it for a month or two. It seems absolutely obvious doesn't it ? |
| News Comment | Cardiff City 2-1 Ipswich Town - Match Report at 16:44:48
Two poor sides on the day creating an awful game of football. I was bored witless in that stadium today. A goal out of nowhere almost sent us home with 3 undeserved pts. Two goals out of nowhere sent us home with nothing. I'd have grudgingly accepted a pt as the performance warranted nothing more. To leave with nothing is a choker. I don't trust us at the moment. We can't continue to play sh*t for 70mins and hope a breathtaking final 20 bails us out. And ironically we were beaten at the death by the sort of deliveries that Moore would have been crying out for. We were formulaic today, slow and predictable, reluctant to cross or shoot. And not surprisingly two mates from Cardiff have text me....."how the **** are you fighting for promotion". Sometimes I'm at a loss to explain. |
| News Comment | McKenna: Hutchinson Has Made Great Strides at 11:56:19
Other than for the Bristol City game, where he probably turned in his most ineffectual performance yet, this lad has been absolutely fantastic. Even though Chelsea are comically bad at times, I can't imagine him breaking into their team any time soon. Hopefully a deal can be done, though it seems very unlikely. He'll be missed, but fondly remembered. |
| News Comment | Ipswich Town 3-2 Bristol City - Match Report at 22:20:03
We were appalling for an hour. How on earth this side are able to rouse themselves is truly astonishing. Even when the performance is substandard the character is remarkable. There is nothing that they're not capable of. I don't like having to sit through one half of dross and regularly going one down, but it does seem to stir us. Breathless and brilliant. |
| News Comment | The TWTD League Calculator 2023/24 at 16:05:55
It's all a bit daft. I wonder if this 'calculator' predicted Leicester to lose at home to QPR and Leeds to drop points at Huddersfield ?!! |
| News Comment | Woolfenden: It's About Being Brave and Setting Traps at 15:55:29
I've been to many games this season where you can visibly see Hladky and Woolfy's knee's knocking as they p*ss about with it on the edge of the six yard box. It's fine if you know what to do and when to do it. But at times the decision making is atrocious. Stick it into Row Z occasionally. I'd rather that than go a goal down looking like petrified schoolboys. Woolfy is much improved, but the goals conceded against Lowe of Swansea and Fellows of West Brom allows bring me back to the same conclusion.....that he is still lightweight and dopey ! |
| News Comment | McKenna: Rotherham Are Competitive Every Week at 08:20:46
The name Keith Stroud fills me with dread. Without doubt he's in the top five of the most incompetent referee's that I've ever witnessed. A ridiculously small man with a ridiculously over inflated ego who loves to be the star of the show. Expect the truly bizarre. |
| News Comment | Burns: Millwall Performance Was a Statement From Us at 09:24:39
I wish players wouldn't say this. Without being churlish or picking holes the result was great, but the performance was very ordinary against the most passive opposition we'll see all season, and we were perhaps fortunate not to go behind early as per usual after another slow start. You beat what's in front ot you, and that was done with little sweat. But the "statement result" quote is generally followed by a pitiful offering. Tomorrow gives us another opportunity, and a sterner test to see what we're made of. |
| News Comment | Ipswich Town 0-1 West Bromwich Albion - Half-Time at 13:39:41
No point entering the ground until an hr after kick off. Nothing happens in the first half apart from the customary weak defending and two or three token half chances. Im sure we'll still get something, but why does it take us so long to get going?! |
| News Comment | Cardiff Match on Sky at 14:04:16
This is scandalous. I'll have to depart Chepstow at 11pm now !! |
| News Comment | Lowe: The Lads Were Fantastic and I Hope Ipswich Get Promoted at 09:37:55
Playing out from the back is removing any little chance we had of automatic promotion. Leeds are on a different level to us and Southampton currently unstoppable. Dreadful decision making is costing us, with grown men looking like confused six yr olds as we persist in trying to retain the ball on the edge of our box for three minutes before eventually and inevitably being made to look stupid. I hate the modern game. There aren't any bonus points for artistic merit. Just ******* welly it ! |
| News Comment | Midfielder Evans Leaves Town at 14:04:32
Very disappointing. Was arguably showing his best form before the injury, and behind Morsy and Luongo I'd still rate him as our next best midfielder at the club. Injury free he is certainly a championship player. Best wishes to him. |
