| News Comment | Town Announce Season Ticket Prices at 11:33:14
I think it's pretty reasonable given what we are seeing at Portman Road under the present set up. We will probably have the cheapest tickets in the Premier League next season. |
| Blog Comment | Let’s All Take a Deep Breath at 11:47:32
Have to say I agree with @Meadowlark - I don't do X/Twitter or Facebook so maybe I am missing something but I really haven't seen or heard anyone being critical of the manager or the team. Yes there have been occasions when we've all held our breath with the passing out from the back but even that has all but disappeared since McK explained the risk & reward strategy and why they do what they do. The only thing I have a view on is our defensive record which IMO is poor in terms of goals conceded but I wouldn't presume to second guess McK given his record with the players at his disposal and I don't doubt both he and the players don't deliberately allow the opposition to score. I was fortunate to be of age when Robson was running the show and I saw those glory years - I then suffered through the Evans/Keane/McCarthy era and I never thought I'd be lucky enough to see Town on the brink of a return to the Promised Land. Whatever happens, this season has been exciting with great football and there are many twists and turns to come. COYB |
| News Comment | Burns: Millwall Performance Was a Statement From Us at 11:08:10
Have to say I have some sympathy with the view of @rossi - Burns hasn't been anywhere close to his best of late and there does seem to be a reluctance to do what everyone loves to see him do - burst past the opposition fullbacks and into the box. I'd also echo what @chepstowblue says regarding the performance vs Millwall - they were very ordinary and Town could so easily have gone behind early. Fortunately the footballing gods were with us but a better team would have scored and once again we would be chasing the game. I love McKenna's style and philosophy but the defence really need to step up and defend. |
| News Comment | Town at Home to Maidstone in FA Cup at 22:00:56
@RRanger agreed it would be good to peg the ticket prices at something sensible but not sure about giving Maidstone all the takings. Perhaps the equivalent of whatever their own fans spend. Either way a great opportunity for some decent PR and a straightforward pass into the next round. |
| News Comment | Tomasson: No Problem With Travis at 15:56:26
@blueboy1981 either you are an idiot or more likely just trying to get a reaction. Everyone is entitled to an opinion but you are constantly antagonistic. @Phil Ham I have posted this before and always mentioned it in end of season surveys but it's " contributors" like @blueboy1981 who just want a fight who cause me and others not to join in discussions. Why is he allowed to exist on here? |
| News Comment | Ipswich Town 0-0 Queens Park Rangers - Match Report at 23:40:19
Ladapo - what is the point? Humphreys - MOM Hladky - has to get his head up and get restarts going more quickly sometimes when the opportunity presents itself Disappointing end to 2023 but we're still 2nd and have the January window to bring in some fresh blood. In McKenna we trust. COYB. |
| News Comment | Leeds United 4-0 Ipswich Town - Match Report at 14:49:06
Disappointing today for sure but we have had a fantastic last 12 months with McKenna at the helm so I will not be critical of anyone. Hopefully the players will realise if they didn't already know what is required to get into the Premier League and more importantly what it takes to stay there. Merry Christmas and roll on Boxing Day. |
| News Comment | Additional Sales Restriction For Norwich Tickets at 10:52:41
I feel sympathy for anyone who bought a membership believing it would give them priority over others in getting tickets particularly those fans who live out of the area and can't always get to every home game. Truth is the Norwich game was always going to be a sell out and tickets would be like Rocking Horse $h!t. The idea of putting up a big screen somewhere is a good one but it couldn't happen at Portman Road for H & S reasons and I very much doubt Sky TV would allow it. |
| News Comment | Town Looking For New West Stand Sponsors as Magnus Group Enters Administration at 19:24:03
It's extremely sad to see a local business struggling like this and I feel for all the employees and their families especially at this time of year. In relation to the comment by @dusth I would say this isn't the forum for politics and if you think it would be any better under a different bunch I think you would be sadly mistaken. They're all as bad as each other. |
| News Comment | Ipswich Town 3-2 Swansea City - Match Report at 18:23:23
Great result, great league position great entertainment BUT we have to stop conceding early goals. It's great to come back and win but the better teams like Leeds and Leicester won't allow it. As a team we need to get better, it's not as if the goals we let in are worldies they are always the result of errors and lack of concentration. Could also do better with goal scoring opportunities and start taking a few. |
| News Comment | Luongo and Burgess in Australia Squad at 05:37:24
The price of a bit of success. Hopefully Mr Ashton & co have some plans in progress for the January transfer window and Leicester & Leeds lose a few to international duty. |
| News Comment | Taylor: I Always Felt We Had a Chance in the Game at 05:34:20
If I were you I'd be pleased too but Rotherham are nothing more than a pub team destined for the 3rd division where they belong. If Town had had their shooting boots on it would have been a monster defeat. |
| News Comment | Schumacher Fuming Over "Huge Turning Point" at 19:09:05
My overriding memory of this match aside from Hladkys man of the match performance will be how easily Plymouth players fell over. As for Schumacher - you've seen the Ipswich now F off home COYB |
| News Comment | Ipswich Town 3-2 Plymouth Argyle - Match Report at 19:03:22
Three more points towards safety. Like others I am a tad concerned about the number of goals we concede at home which makes the games more nervous to watch than they need to be. Hladky my MOTM, can't see Walton getting in the starting lineup anytime soon. Pleased for Hirst, he works so hard for the cause it's just a shame we don't have someone else like him to help out.
