My mum died on October 4th 2022. It's a long journey from where I live back home to Suffolk and I didn't get there in time. Obviously there's nothing I could have done, of course, but then once I was there I had my dad to think about. It was a difficult day, but then in the evening I knew that he would be happy to watch the football on iFollow, which worked perfectly for once. I always liked Kyle Edwards and his goals in that game made an enormous difference to both of us that day. I will always love him for that.
@blues1 sorry, no. It was a silly joke based on a line of dialogue from the film Taxi Driver (1976), because of his name. For future reference, I will never ask for clarification (of the information within an article without reading it) in the comments section as that would be a ridiculous thing to do.
We all, always, wish our young players well, but FC is definitely one whom I would love to see make it as a player in the senior team. His figures for goals and assists prior to that injury were quite astonishing. Good luck at Hemel my man.
“There could have been…” Chappers deserves an EFL grammar award for this, and TWTD should be lauded for their perfect transcription. ITFC can do no wrong.
I think some of the language used here is rather harsh. Young footballers should be supported and encouraged, especially if they are representing Ipswich Town.
If Barton did one tenth of the homework on the opposition that K McK does, he would have known that Chaplin did not dive Why would he fall over when he can be watching the net bulge again?
I suspect that K McK may be an authentic football genius. Ran them ragged with Jackson and then took the goals that were coming with the not-entirely-fit Chaplin. I think we might even have a manager who is a strategist, and I am getting really excited.
I saw Paul Mariner in Solar Superstore in Sproughton Road in about 1982. He was looking at the football annuals. I was about ten years old and couldn't manage to open my mouth to say a single word so I just stood there and stared at him. He turned and smiled at me. It is one of the most precious memories of my youth. Those really were the days.
It's weird, isn't it, the number of people at other clubs who seem to think Ipswich are spending extravagantly? It's like it's the first time they have noticed us in years. I hope Colin stays in football long enough for us to beat him again.
I haven't made it to a match yet this season as I live a long way off, but I take it he has a bottle he keeps in the back corner of the nets? I'd like to hear the North Stand break into this refrain when he takes a swig...
Hey Muccleton Joe, I couldn't agree more. I don't think we will get out of L1 quickly if we think we can play lots of different systems. Keep It Simple, Stupid - one system that works, where everybody knows their jobs, is all we need. If that means square pegs in round holes once in a while, I'm fine with that. We used to think that Chambers at RB was as low as we were going to sink, but we were wrong.
