| News Comment | McKenna Nominated For Manager of the Season at 14:58:10
Definitely not Farke, with that squad I could’ve won the league; Rosenoir is a strange one , I’d have thought Robins at Coventry was more deserving but there’s only one winner to my mind. |
| News Comment | Martin: We Were the Best Team, We Didn't Deserve to Lose at 23:25:02
I think it’s clear to everyone that the three relegated teams have by far the most technically gifted squads with premier league savvy to back it up BUT there’s other factors at work here. We have shown that while we may not have the glitzy lineups, boy do we have team spirit and desire. He does himself no favours with his comments and being a bit more magnanimous in defeat might have been a better option. |
| News Comment | McKenna: A Brilliant Way to Win a Football Match at 09:51:37
Karlosfandangal I am of the same opinion; absolute legend but he was pretty scathing of us. Even the Brizzle lads and lasses comments suggest that while they were probably worth a draw there was only one team that was going to win it. |
| News Comment | European Clubs 'Monitoring' Hutchinson at 10:45:02
I’d agree with all that’s been said but it is interesting that’s he’s not a regular starter. That to me says a lot about where he is in his development. |
| News Comment | Ipswich Town 4-3 Rotherham United - Match Report at 07:33:04
A one off, although our defensive frailties exposed again, something KMcK will be critically aware of. Credit to Rotherham; they got in our faces and made life difficult. They’re bottom of the league so you would expect that, we just didn’t seem to handle it that well at times throughout the match. Learning point! 3 points is 3 points and at this stage of the season we’d all take that. |
| News Comment | McKenna: Rotherham Are Competitive Every Week at 15:38:36
Rotherham have been a bit of a bogey team to us in my mind. Regardless of their position they will be up for it. If we do are usual and lose a goal early it could be a difficult night. But in KMcK we trust. |
| News Comment | McKenna: I Really Enjoyed It, a Tough Game, a Proper Game at 10:49:08
29% possession; 2 shots on target, 2 goals win 2-1 away from home. Not the Maidstone horror story to which I apologise in giving you all reoccurring flashbacks, but the stats from yesterday’s Middlesbrough win at Leicester! Automatics can be done, we just need to keep the faith!! COYBs |
| News Comment | Palace Reportedly Fail in Move For McKenna at 20:22:15
I’m not sure, like us, KMcK expected us to be having the season we are currently experiencing. To my mind he was always here for the longer term as part of implementing his plan, but exactly how long is anyone’s guess. Regardless of promotion or not. I would expect him to be with us into next season while acknowledging you can rule nothing in or out. |
| News Comment | McKenna: Another Game We Feel We've Done Enough to Win at 12:56:24
It’s worth remembering that this is KMcKs first managerial appointment. Like all of us starting out he ain’t going to get everything right all of the time. But compare him and what he’s brought to our club with what’s gone before (certainly the last 6 full time guys) and the evidence is clear to see. |
| News Comment | Ipswich Town 2-2 West Bromwich Albion - Match Report at 19:56:06
A point against one of the better championship experienced teams and probably deserving of 3 and the comments on here are like we’re facing relegation! Yes, our defensive frailties are there for all to see but this continual bleating that we should have strengthened in the transfer window fails to mention, with who??? Expectations of promotion to the promised land have taken over the asylum!!! We are a league 1 team getting to grips with this extremely tough league which contain some premiership savvy teams. Of course promotion would be an amazing achievement but where we are just now is a massive jump where we were 18 months ago. Some folk have short memories! Just my opinion! |
| News Comment | McKenna: In the First Half Everything That Could Go Wrong, Did Go Wrong at 12:53:07
I think you have to give credit to Preston particularly in the first half for their high press. We didn’t seem to be comfortable with it and didn’t seem to know how to handle it, the dreaded plan “B” appeared to be lacking. To my mind, that contributed to at least the first two goals, even allowing for the officials perceived failings. Disappointed on the day, undoubtedly, but I’m keeping the faith. Like KMcK, that’s only 4 defeats this season. |
| News Comment | Preston North End 3-2 Ipswich Town - Match Report at 20:52:09
For all the times he has undoubtedly saved us points this season and accepting that not one person can be blamed for our failings particularly in this half, Hjadky had an absolute mare!!! Always thought today was going to be a difficult day but boy did we make it easy for them! |
| News Comment | McKenna: Credit to Maidstone, a Horrible Game to Lose at 17:43:06
I couldn’t give a flyin toss of us being out of the FA Cup but the nature of our exit doesn’t sit comfortable. Looking round at the other team selections would suggest most managers at this stage of the competition will also tinker with their teams not necessarily for progression in the cup but more for their season ambitions. The match statistics tell you all you need to know although I admit the only stat that matters is the balls in the back of the net. One of those early chances had gone in…….. Sutton (England B failed striker) most annoyingly predicted a 3 nil win to us but forewarned that the hiccup would come if KMcK made too many changes!! Not a good day by any standards but I measure todays result by what has gone before in the last 18 months and accept everyone is susceptible to days like this. |
