| News Comment | Cook: Toughest Period of My Management Career in Terms of Wins at 22:40:32
Today was the 1st game ive been to since we lost at home to Middlesbrough in our relegation season. I cant afford to get to the games but i always watch the highlights. I must say, despite the frustrating start, the difference in football was clearly there for me to see. We play so much more attractive football. Whilst it is in spits and spats i remain positive this manager, group of staff and group of players will get it right. When that second goal went in, it felt incredible. Felt like we would go on to win 3 or 4-0. Obviously it wasnt meant to be and Wimbledon soon clawed their way back into the game. As soon as Wimbledon scored, for the rest of the game it felt like the Town of the last 4 or 5 years now? You just had that sinking feeling that we were going to throw it away again. I think the goals we are scoring and the positions we are getting ourselves into and the manner of it is probably the best ive seen since the Burley and Royle days. We look and feel so exciting to watch. Which is what we have all craved. Now we are getting it, we must be patient and keep behind them. When that second goal went in, the atmosphere was the best ive seen it since our last Championship playoff campaign. ITID COTB |
| News Comment | Owner Evans on Cook, Lambert and Takeover Talk at 23:06:44
I havnt been to games regularly for quite a few seasons now, so i am just an armchair supporter i guess. But is it me, or is it every time Marcus Evans releases a statement he does such a good job of reassuring everyone? Whether he just always knows what to say or not, i feel like he talks sense and makes many accurate points. I guess its just a shame that the fans arent as close to him as we were with Sheepshanks. Perhaps if he could be a bit more present it may just keep fans on side more? Time and time again we do see clubs spiral out of control after a takeover and a huge investment. Its not always the answer. There are many examples of this throughout the leagues above and below where “big clubs” have had to suffer and endure rough times. But with a stable and well run ownership they do tend to bounce back. I hope for the club and all you guys that fork out so much money to follow our beloved club, we can return to somewhat better times under Evans' ownership and his plan can be seen through with success. Lambert done such a great job of connecting us all back with the club and spoke about so many great ideas which Evans has mentioned in this statement. Such a shame it didnt work out. Anyway, coyb. What better than a great club? A club that can fall into nothingness and come back even stronger. Have a little faith and stop being so negative |

Everyone needs to give players a chance no matter where they have come from. We have bought so many players over from absolutely no where who turned out to be gems for us and sold on for a massive profit. No good constantly blaming Evans. Look at the amount of clubs who have spent fortunes in this league yet still remain or have been relegated. Its about building a squad of players with team spirit and nit and grit. Yes we have a few players ageing who look like it might be time to hang up their boots. But do not underestimate the influence they have on the dressing room. Its a sad time, but this club will make its way back eventually. But it needs everyone behind it! |
| News Comment | Shrews Signings and Waghorn Exit Set to Be Confirmed on Wednesday at 22:32:30
Lets not get too carried away on how many players we can sign on one players departure. Perhaps £5m can cover the signings, but replacing 1 players wages with 4/5 players wages would demand more money. Nsiala & Nolan we should be happy with. Tilt & Jackson would be an unusual bonus for us to be delighted about. Cant remember the last time we made so many permanent signings. COYB |
| News Comment | Town Confirm Edun Loan Signing in Time for Blackburn at 15:34:06
If we play anything like we did against West Ham, we are going to be one of the surprise packages this season! Especially when you consider the team have only had 4 weeks under Hurst. Entertainment is definitely back down Portman Road this year. Very exciting |
