Dead cat on table strategy?
at 19:40 26 Dec 2019

Has Lambert just distracted us from the disjointed football and constant tinkering? Probably not.

Not good today, and having a manager that's not 100% committed to the cause doesn't fill anyone with confidence.

Took us 30mins to do anything, and then we struggled to start quickly in the 2nd half. As I predicted, when we make substitutions we then struggle to get anything going afterwards.

Very odd all round.

Reliance on Loan players
at 17:06 14 Apr 2019

I think one of the reasons we find ourselves where we are was our reliance on Loan "flair" players.

Looking back now during the MM years we never really kicked on and integrated our own players into the team after 14/15. The squad just seemed to be patched up here and there. I don't think that's purely down to money.

I think our transfer strategy was to short sighted, never looking beyond the end of the season. It ended in giving Hurst a massive rebuild job in the summer as the core of our squad had been allowed to rot. Obviously the departures of our two strikers left us with little to no quality at all.

George Burley had been warning about developing other people's players for some time. He had a point.

You could write a dissertation on why relegation happened but I think this is a big part of it.

League 1 it is then
at 00:03 29 Nov 2018

A competitive first half, good goal Freddie. After that the players froze. The team is so lacking of quality and that's no surprise.

Shame we have to watch another 5-6 months of this because it looks terminal. As for league 1, it's our level now. This club is going to have to change, the facilities need maintaining we are going to have to attract new fans with deals and promotions. Look at what Palios is doing with Tranmere.

Let's use League 1 as a chance to rebuild from the ground up. We have to totally connect this club with the community getting people who follow football on telly into the habit of attending. We have to make the experience attractive.

Of course we need to build a team to win league 1, that's a bare minimum. That could take several years. But we must use the chance of better results to revive this club. We can't sit in league 1 and stagnate, that's my big fear.

My summary
at 23:56 4 Aug 2018

Better than I expected. Lots of players who were not tuned in with one another, a few signings short. Weak at the back but we showed far more than we ever did last season.

Harrison will be a good player for us, he needs time and with Nolan in behind him I think that's a very exciting prospect. He showed flashes of good stuff today.

Edwards was a class act, the trickery and pace. Never afraid to take his man on, we're going to like him a lot.

Sears put in some decent deliveries but looks slightly jaded at times, I still believe he is better out wide than down the middle though.

Donacian at CB looked nervous but he settled into the game at RB. Give him time and I reckon we've got a decent player in him.

Wolfenden in my opinion was fantastic, so assured on the ball. We looked a better team when he came on, he should have started.

Midfield didn't quite work for me, but with Andre and hopefully Nolan to come in it's only going to get better.

Tayo Edun was the right sub at the right time, he got us up the pitch. Even though the equaliser was fortunate, I think we deserved a point.

Sort that defence out over the next week, get Nolan in behind the striker, get the new players gelling together and we will be fine.

Blackburn will be a mid table side, nothing to worry about not beating them.

Enjoyed the game and can only see us improve going forwards. Really looking forward to following what is effectively a rebuild job, it's going to be tough at times but we are not going down! No chance!!!

Disgraceful
at 22:07 13 Mar 2018

Have been positive until very recently and Do not usually advocate negativity in the ground, but that's enough for me. We need a total regime change.

Im sorry but I thought every negative chant and boo was well deserved, we needed to make our feelings well heard.

We were sunk 1hr before kick off, sears up front on his own was a joke, waggy comes on and we looked competitive.

Couldn't score in a month of Sundays, couldn't defend. Evans needs to sell up really and we need a new manager.

I travel back to the west Midlands, having thoroughly wasted my time and money.

We need leadership and direction, we need a plan, Now!

Oh its Good to be back!
at 19:34 5 Aug 2017

A very scrappy First half of football, Bart saved one on the line and we had a few half chances resulting from corners. But what was noticeable was that we were passing it out from the back! Overall much less aimless punts, only resorting to it when in a tight spot. I thought skuse looked good today, Dozzell had some lovely pass and move moments. Has a bit down after the Dozzell injury but then the man of the match Flynn Downes came on and what a performance, great passer of the ball, good pace and strong. He really could be a massive player for us if he keeps that up, very impressive.

Second half we upped the tempo, again some nice bits of play and the goal came from Garner. I thought Garner was outstanding, yes he doesn’t necessarily win all the headers but his work rate and energy and effort was 1st class, a horrible player to play against. We won many free kicks of Garners excellent work. Good Player! Sears was largely absent for me today, and oh what a miss! Should have been 2-0. Knudsen impressed me today, he has really come on since we signed him and it was obviously his excellent cross that led to the goal. Really enjoyed today, great to be back and for me a massive improvement already on last season. As for Birmingham, I will admit an average team that didn’t threaten us particularly but it was those teams that we failed to beat last year.

Positive start and its great to be back!

Okay Folks, We really Could go down now!!
at 16:34 18 Mar 2017

The February "Uplift" wasn't a turnaround after all. I was wrong.

Even if we stay Up this year, if the current policy carries on we defiantly will go down. And the ticket price scandal will only hurt us even more.

New Owner needed, New Manager needed, Just something to fix this mess!!!

My Favourite Game of the Season!!
at 20:55 11 Feb 2017

Great Day out with some mates, few pubs in Cov before venturing to the dive that is Birmingham. Crowd seemed up for it from the start, home and away. The game I thought was 50/50, we had the ball in more attacking areas, them more shots on target. The new Midfield transformed us.

Diagouraga dropped back to receive the ball, he ran with it, he passed it forward!! He was strong and had great energy, really impressed.

Huws was fantastic, again energy, looking forward, running forward. Different class to what we have had, great finish as well.

Man of the match for me was DidZ, he was all over them, he worked great with the new midfield. His face after the goal looked like a man who was enjoying himself again.

All the team played well but those stood out for me.

Really good away day, and a fantastic result. Cheers to everyone for making it a great day!!
