| News Comment | Ipswich Town 6-0 Sheffield Wednesday - Match Report at 19:44:38
Great result, and a wonderful attacking display. But I still worry a bit about our defence. They look a bit shaky when anyone runs directly at them, and if Wednesday had been better, they might have had a couple of goals themselves. Still, it's the result that counts, and all round, we made the Owls look second-rate. |
| News Comment | Cardiff City 2-1 Ipswich Town - Match Report at 16:42:22
We were a bit flat today, but by no means outplayed. What happened is what we have done ourselves to many teams this season, so we need to suck it up and move on. There is still time for plenty of ups and downs before the end of the season. And our fantastic fans won the stadium noise battle hands down as far as I could hear. COYB,! |
| News Comment | Ipswich Town 3-2 Bristol City - Match Report at 07:09:59
ITFC games need to come with a health warning! The level of expectation and excitement now matches what those of old enough to remember felt 20+ years ago under the great George Burley and our foray into the Premier League. I don't know if we will do it this time, but we are giving it one hell of a go! COYB! |
| News Comment | McKenna: The Support Has Been Massive For Us and Will Continue to Be Massive For Us at 17:13:05
I would agree the away support is fantastic, but the home support is rather fickle (not an unknown phenomenon at many clubs). It doesn't take much for people to start moaning. I suppose that is due to the high standards we have set. People's expectations have been raised. The best support is when the team are not really performing and need a morale boost. COYB! |

Burns maybe a little off the boil of late (will come good again!) so understand this change. |
| News Comment | Millwall 0-4 Ipswich Town - Match Report at 22:34:28
Absolutely brilliant! And the team were pretty good too. But the away fans were "absolutely brilliant". We pretty much dominated the whole game. Great effort from all concerned. |
| News Comment | McKenna: Officials Apologised For First Two Preston Goals at 07:57:37
After an apology from the officials - a pretty rare thing, I should imagine, so some credit to them - it would be strange if K McK didn't comment on the two decisions in question. But what I admire is that he simply comments and doesn't harp on in the usual one-sided "we wuz robbed" mode that 95% of managers seem to adopt. We were unlucky. But we put it behind us and move on! |
| News Comment | McKenna: My Full Focus and Commitment is On Town at 14:47:20
I'm not worried in the short to medium term. I think K McK is a man of integrity and he will want to see what he can accomplish with us first, before perhaps moving on in the future. And Palace would hardly be an upward move, despite their PL status (for the time being). |
| News Comment | Preston North End 3-2 Ipswich Town - Match Report at 09:21:22
While of course I don't want to lose and while I was, like everyone else, very disappointed about the first half, it may just be a positive now that the pressure is off a bit. We have been clinging on to 2nd and getting so anxious about the two clubs behind us; now we are chasing the top three and the pressure is on them to maintain their positions. I don't think the race is over yet. If we put in our best performance, we can give anyone in this division a run for their money. I do agree we must cut down on the faffing around at the back, though. |
| News Comment | McKenna: Preston Still a Difficult Proposition at 06:35:31
SoCalTownFan: While you (deliberately?) over-state it, your analysis has an element of truth about it. Several Town fans have expressed frustration that we don't shoot more. But with the new additions, I hope and think we can look forward to a more direct approach in attack. Now at least, even if we can't get through the packed defence, we have someone to aim at if we lob the ball into the mix and who knows where the ball will drop after that. Looking forward to seeing how we develop with our upgraded offensive play. |
| News Comment | Town Confirm Moore Loan Signing at 06:14:43
Chaplin & Moore: could be a great "Little and Large" combination. Very happy with our business this transfer window. I think we look a lot stronger with four new additions - five really if you count Williams. |
| News Comment | Moore to Join Town On Loan If Cherries Confirm Getafe Striker Signing at 16:35:03
Good point, chepstowblue - I think we have become a bit predictable of late, with a lot of the pretty passing around and not so much end product. If Moore comes in, this may get us to change our approach slightly - no need for massive adaptations, but perhaps we can become a bit more direct. Exciting times! |
| News Comment | Striker Remains Priority For Town on Deadline Day at 11:31:12
KM would be a good addition. I don't think we have much threat in the air up front and he would certainly provide this - quite a handful at corners, for example. If we pull this off in the face of Slumberland and Cardiff, that's quite a big statement of intent. |
