Ipswich Town 1-0 Lincoln City - Match Report
at 19:10:31

Very well played against a decent side. The whole team looked cohesive. Downes is looking better and better with every game. Thank goodness he got up from that awful challenge. He’s a tough lad, and showing a lot of maturiy in not creating a song and dance or trying to get even. Some tough games to come, but our rivals have to play each other too at some point, so they can’t all win all their games. We just need to keep winning ours.

Chambers: Lincoln Will Find We're a Different Team
at 05:22:51

I’m not sure we’ve improved enough to be very confident about this difficult match, but I hope I’m wrong. If we do well against Lincoln and Rotherham, then we can begin to talk about having turned the corner.

Woolfenden: I've Still Got a Lot to Learn
at 16:11:07

There's a good chance he'll be worth a lot more than £10 m. in a couple of years' time (inasmuch as any footballer is worth all that money in today's inflated price carousel).

Ayr Boss Impressed By Debutant Drinan

Why did Brett McGavin return? Surely he's good enough for this team! Maybe it was his own decision? Have I missed something?

Downes: I'll Still Be Here When the Window Closes

Top man, already a good player, with potential for more. Obviously has ITFC at heart. Pity more players can’t show a bit more club loyalty. Respect, Flynn!

Lambert: £10m-Rated Woolfenden Still Just as Laid-Back
at 16:01:26

Unfortunately, PL is probably saying it as it is here. At some point we're going to lose the Wolf. It just remains to be seen when and for how much.

If all goes well, I expect to see McGavin in the first team squad next season. Don't think Drinan will make it, though.

Bart Happy to Sign Permanently at Millwall
at 10:46:04

I'll miss Bart on the "sentimental" level, as he adhered himself to the fans, but I don't think he will be missed at all on the pitch. We have two very good replacements. Time to move on.

Lambert: Good Point But We Should Have Had a Penalty
at 05:11:53

Agreed, Mr Lambert: we were the better team, although Oxford were pretty good too; and yes, it certainly looked like a penalty on iFollow. Carry on playing like this and we’ll be ok.

Lambert: Absolutely No Chance Whatsoever Woolfenden Will Leave for £3m
at 05:04:57

Interpreting exactly what PL means can be a bit difficult at times, but here seems to be the message we all want to hear: we’re not giving away our prize asset for peanuts. Somehow I have confidence that what PL says goes in this instance. Is the Wolf any less valuable than Webster? I don’t think so, so £25 m should be the absolute bottom line when the time comes - plus a bit more for inflation.

Blades Linked With £3m Woolfenden Move
at 10:35:03

Surely it would be a very poor financial decision (not to mention a sporting one) to let him go for peanuts when his potential price is so much more. But past experiences don't fill me with much confidence. PL clubs get masses of TV and advertising money. It's about time some of the former was more fairly distributed among the 60 clubs of 90 in the top four divisions (BBC News, 14 January) currently in debt.

Garbutt: There Will Be Discussions With Everton and Ipswich, We’ll Just Have to Wait and See
at 19:30:30

The obvious answer is to get promoted; then we can offer him better terms. I’m pretty sure a middle/lower Championship side will sign him in the summer if we miss out on going up.

Jackson: Best Win of the Season
at 06:46:44

Pleased with the performance and generally agree with the need for a more settled side, but we’ll need a bit of flexibility if we are going to get Freddie & Teddy back in action - not wholesale changes, though.
