ITFC Sweden Holding AGM as Numbers Hit New High
at 19:45:18

I once attended their AGM in Stockholm some twenty years ago. There were only eight supporters in attendance, including my son and myself. How things have moved on!

Please could someone at ITFC print and market the Swedish logo - with an elk instead of the Suffolk Punch - on badges, scarves, shirts, pullovers etc. I'm sure it would sell very well!

Town Offer Fans Vote on Matchday Music
at 10:39:36

"Goal Music" is a hideous idea. It diverts one's personal celebrations to inane corporate branding. Leave us alone and the sheer joy of a goal will be unique each time - and a far more genuine outpouring of emotion.

For the "walk-out" music how about a complete contrast? Entry of the Gladiators served us well in the past.

Wing Wonders (Part One)

Thank you. A really excellent article. Those were indeed the days!

Joe Broadfoot lived at 90 Tuddenham Avenue, a semi-detatched house, owned by ITFC, which happened to be next door to my Gran's bungalow. There was, let us say, many a noisy and rowdy evening at No.90 in those days!

That 2-3 home defeat to Leeds was one hell of a game. Leeds scored straight from the kick-off - after only 23 seconds I dimly recall.

I can still picture vividly Alan Gilzean's crunching (and career-ending) tackle on Frank Brogan - possibly the most vicious I've ever seen live.

Blues' First Black Player Stacey Publishes Autobiography
at 13:15:39

.......he never had any problems with racism from his team-mates: “You walk into a dressing room, believe you me, if you're black, white or blue and white stripes it doesn't really matter, the only thing that matters in the dressing room is whether you can play football or not.

“That is the only criteria and I must say that all my time in the football world I was never abused, taken advantage of or any of those issues [that happened] outside the football world.”

That's refreshing. Such a positive experience should be headline news! We usually only hear about abuse, victimisation, prejudice and the like. No virtue signalling from Steve - impressive!

Judge Picks Up Assist But Breaks Wrist as El Mizouni Makes International Debut
at 23:25:14

"The midfielder looks certain to miss Ireland's game against Gibraltar in Dublin on Monday with the FAI announcing he broke his wrist in the closing moments of tonight's match, although manager Mick McCarthy said in post-match interviews that he had broken his arm."

Ah well! There seems to be something fundamentally wrong with the many injuries concerning our players at our beloved club. Has this been connected with the old McCarthy back room team? Has this issue been addressed with the new, Lambert team? We await.......?

Thank you. A wonderfully perceptive analysis.
Maybe, somewhere, 'over the rainbow' (cue music) - but, as you rightly say, "All Lambert has to do is stay in touch with reality" - Fingers crossed!
Your final paragraph hints that something interesting is afoot. Tell us more?.......

Stoke City 2-0 Ipswich Town - Match Report

Blue Army 81
"Evans has killed this club. Anyone who defends him is part of the problem"
I, and probably the majority of other Town Fans, agree with you for your first sentence.
However, your second sentence shows an intolerance and an unacceptably bigoted opinion (and a total disrespect) of those fans who do not share your own opinion. Such illogical reasoning does not help the club, or you!
"I'm right and anyone who disagrees with me is an idiot" is a sad and lamentable state of mind.

ITFC Sweden Celebrating 10th Anniversary
at 11:44:35

A great bunch of fans. Went to their AGM in Stockholm some years ago.

How about some sew-on ITFC badges with an elk instead of the horse? I'd certainly buy a few.

Hope you all have one hell of a good time in Suffolk!

Villa Game All-Ticket
at 15:57:19

For those of us living a fair way from Ipswich, of which there must be many, this arrangement seems ill-advised. For this particular fixture, I will not be absolutely sure if we (myself and several family members and friends) can all make it to PR until the day itself due to work schedules and the like. Travel by both train and by air needs to be planned and tickets bought well in advance; furthermore, travel from London - or indeed from Gatwick and Stansted - is never quite reliable enough.

So, yes, we probably do not "have thousands deciding to go after 13:30 on Saturday" as MarcusEvansReborn comments, most understandably, but there are a very significant number of supporters who will think twice about attending this weekend if no tickets are available on the day.

The ticket office should realise that the days of mostly local support have gone forever. We are now far more sociably mobile and I should guess that a huge proportion of those Ipswich-based fans who witnessed our better days in the top flight now live away from Suffolk. Many current Suffolk-based supporters will have jobs away from home too.

Please, Police and Club, both of you get together and make such arrangements well in advance! All this smacks of a hastily called meeting on Monday morning with the agenda headed by "We will have a big crowd on Saturday - what the hell do we do?*

Surely, if security is such a major problem, fans could be required to produce a passport at the turnstiles (which could be photocopied quite easily these days on site) and this would perhaps deter potential troublemakers significantly?

Ticket Promotion for Preston, Pompey All-Ticket
at 00:14:28

Thanks, Phil. But you miss the point.
There is absolutely no problem buying tickets in advance.
There is, however, no facility for those groups of fans, be they family groups or other collaborations, who plan a "multi-ticket" arrival at the "Home Fans" End and who have serious problems with the "5 Tickets Rule" which seems to be the case with all Championship Clubs these days.
You clearly realise that we all have to buy tickets in advance, but that is not the issue. There is no flexibility. (The Forum has further comments)
We (us lot, this fervent clan now living in Surrey) will not now attend the Portsmouth game because we are not sure how many of us will be able to cheer on the team. It's a waste of money if one or more of us cannot attend.
Anyway, Happy New Year........and we all need a little moan!

uefacup81: More seriously, I can also see the logic in all this and your main post is most pertinent. However, I'm sure you will concur that an earlier decision on ticket sales in general for such a match as this would have left many fans feeling more "connected," for want of a better word!

Auntie Blue: Thank you kindly. However, the problem is not buying tickets as such. I think my comments make this clear.
