Town Reject Bournemouth Bid For Jackson - Reports
at 11:09:33

I think if we can get £3m for him that would be very good!
He was n't great last year, often offside, and his confidence looked completely shot, but he clearly has potential, and in a more creative team would easily get 20 goals I reckon. He would get more chances at Bournemouth. £3m with a sell-on fee would be good. (I'm literally in shock we are not losing him for £1m - what is going on?!)

League One Expected to Be Brought to Early End
at 11:02:09

I feel as a Town fan it is a blessing this season is called off. How sad is that. The only question is - with the same manager/regime in charge - is there any reason to be more optimistic about next season?

Don't get the low fee tbh.

Also, if he is on loan, are Championship Millwall not paying all of his Championship wages whilst on loan? If not I don't get it.

Norris: We Had a Good, Honest Chat as a Group
at 12:24:46

Some thoughts based on the games I've seen this season.

On the whole we have not played well all season. For the first 1/4 of a season we seemed to get results despite playing poorly/being outplayed by often lower table opposition.

totally agree with @ChateauWines - the team handholding celebrations were completely inappropriate because - despite winning and being top, we weren't playing well. Really dumb move. Save that for when you go up, or for when you put on an excellent, fluid, confidence performance.

We seem to struggle to string passes together, show any fluidity, system, or style.

We look really nervous and lacking in confidence. Basic passes fluffed. Crosses routinely overhit. Shooting poor. And this was when we were top of League 1?!

Now we are still playing poorly but getting what we deserve from games.

Imagine having a season ticket (home and away) for only the first half of games? From what I've seen/heard that would a nightmare. Often I've bought the iFollow (£10?!) and then pretty much regretted it by the end. Othertimes I didn't manage to get it, and then realised I dodged a bullet.

I like Lambert/want to like Lambert but it does seem he is really struggling, and half the problems he has created himself - mainly chopping the team/formation every game. I have no reason not to believe two Norwich friends(!) who told me he is tactically lost without Culverhouse - who was the footballing brain. He has galvanised the fans and the club which was well-needed, so fair play. That buys him the year's credit he's had. Now he needs to deliver something more. League 1 is actually much poorer than I thought it would be. Promotion is so achievable. But we look pretty much like last year, only in a much worse league. I'd worry about is in the Champ which is a horrible, hard league.

I hope they told him not change it as much and stick to a system.

Lambert: Second Half Was Outstanding
at 17:26:25

Great to get a win. But I really don't like to see PL throw out these superlatives when on the whole the performances are so disjointed and bad. In most games the opposition have the better chances, and if they could finish would have won. Whereas we can take the odd chance and can scrape a win. I also don't think they should do the holding hands armwaving thing until they actually play well.

Barton: Probably as Bad as a Group of Players as Ipswich Have Had in a Long Time
at 13:34:15

Unpopular opinion - but I think this is quite funny! It's a good little dig.Almost true - maybe last year was the worst group of players. This year a bit better?

I think the bit about doing a team wave to the crowd is spot on, and echoing Renegade Statman's comment on twitter - are we maybe over-celebrating this early in the season? I will like these celebrations more if/when we are actually playing really good football. Until then I am a bit uneasy...

Hurst: Wrong Decision to Involve Walters
at 17:02:16

Basically this (below post). It fricking hurts watch this, it is tough. But don't be snowflakes - it's way too early. Stay strong. Support. Give him a chance. Thank you.

that we were respected throughout the footballing world as being a good club. But now after the McCarthy debacle we've got fans calling for the manager to be sacked after 8 games whatever happened to give the new man time? Is this a snowflake/millennial thing or just modern society? Our club wasn't ever going to challenge for promotion this year! This season was about staying in the league & undoing all the harm that was done to our playing style in the Keane,Jewell & McCarthy years that doesn't happen over night! Obviously Hurst hasn't helped himself changing teams so much & not knowing his best 11 yet but he won't find that out in training, we can all say who we think is best suited but we only see matchdays we have to give him time it's what a good club with good fans does. So when you're slagging the team off because we're not thrashing whoever we're playing just remember we're little Ipswich & we have to earn that right!! This has been building for 17 years we may have to go down to go back up but we will one day return to where we want to be it just won't happen overnight. We all get frustrated when it doesn't go as we want but give credit to Bolton who when down to 10 men shut up shop and hope to weather the storm that never really came. Supporting our team isn't about always winning, everyone needs to be behind the team god knows they need it no team with a new manager should be scared to play at home so early in the season that's just crap fans causing that!! Next game if you don't want to support the boys don't go you're not needed!! COYB

Hurst: Even Evans Surprised By Extent of Summer Changes
at 10:37:46

I am still fully behind PH as we must so encourage all to do the same. Some of the insulting remarks above about PH beggar belief, and let down the club. That said, now I've seen a full game I do have a few thoughts and observations that give me some concern for the season ahead.

Against Norwich -

- First half really poor and hapless. We looked fully Div 1, rather headless, and the players didn't look like they believed they were good enough to play at that level. Could not pass it around or keep possession or string more than 3 passes together. Terrible.

- Edwards clearly a threat, but the way he kept running with it till he lost it rather than giving it was perplexing and suggests he has plenty to learn/improve. Still, great we have someone whol will run at people and take them on!

- Worried about Roberts and Graham being good enough. But let's give them a chance.

- The 2 new strikers - I don't get it. I don't really see the threat they pose or how they will be effective at all. Lots of money spent there so a lot riding on them and how we judge PH. Thankfully we have Walters who will help a lot.

- When Norwich had their spell 2nd half they were all over us, cut through our defence with embarrassing ease, had loads of time to pick passes and get shots in. They should have done more with them and we are lucky they didn't.

It looks like it will take a while for these players to step up and believe they can play at this level, so I can see the next couple of months being tough, but urge all to keep the faith and support the team!

Losing to Ipswich When They Are Bottom of the Table Would Be Unforgivable - Notes for Norwich City
at 16:02:22

A very interesting and enlightening read!

I have to say I was not expecting them to be THAT scathing about their team's quality and strength. From the write up I would have thought we were favourites, yet they still all feel they will win. Definitely a winnable game for Ipswich. Would be a dream if this is the game it finally clicks and we create and take a few chances. Walters could be critical. Their defence sounds dodgy.

But would you all take a draw if offered now....? Hmmmm

Hearts Hold McAuley Talks as Town Go into Deadline Day Seeking Centre-Half

Good point Guthrum, I hope that is true..?

ps. I had the weirdest dream last night. Dreamt that in the week before the derby, Ipswich were winning their game 6-0, Reuser (back on loan?) completing his hatrick, and Norwich were 5-0 down in another game. It was crazy and felt like a good omen going into Sunday....
