Outmuscled and outfought in every department on a horrible pitch. Simply second best to a well organised and hard working side.

They were better than us in every department. A lot for Cook to work on.

As far as the time wasting was concerned once the ref had booked the keeper he knew he could push it to the limit because a ref is highly unlikely to give the keeper 2 yellows both for time wasting unless it is really extreme.

I thought the ref gave plenty of added time beyond the 2 minutes for the time wasting in the first half and we nearly scored during it too. However, he didn't add anything to the extra 5 at the end. Considering how long the players got treatment for, the 4 subs, the red card and bookings, he might easily have found longer than 5 minutes but it was probably about right really.

If I am perfectly honest, I think opposition generally are less effective at time wasting in this league than they used to be in the Championship.

Reading were poor and were there for the taking. The fact we were even worse is why we are finishing rock bottom of this league.

There was the good, the bad and the ugly. Collins wasn't at full fitness but was our best player until he went off. Oliveira was rightly booked for diving early on but he got the last laugh by scoring the goal that gave them the lead for most of the match. How he didn't get a second yellow for celebrating provocatively in front of the home fans I am unsure. I think ref's conversation with him was probably along the lines of "that was a booking if you hadn't already had one". His pirouette from Nsiala's foul on him ended his afternoon early and while his team mates did their best to give away the game, our ability to do that outshone theirs.

Chambers was twice caught out for the goals and capped it all by putting a free header on the edge of the six yard box wide. Nsiala looked no more lost playing up front than he does in defence but that isn't a compliment to him. Quaner is supposedly a striker. His ability to control the ball looks Premier quality. His ability to stay onside, make decisions and do something positive with it afterwards is a different class altogether. For him to miss a similar free header to Chambers' at the death belies the fact he will never be a prolific goal scorer at any level.

Bishop and Judge tried their best as did Kenlock but it showed that he had less quality. Edwards came on and showed he has ability but that only serves to frustrate even more how little of it he has shown with any consistency.

To start the game with only Quaner up front was poor. To finish it with Jackson still on the bench and Nsiala partnering Quaner just goes to show how far short we are up front. Surely Edwards could have been given a go there if Jackson could not be.

Ref got the big decisions wrong. A draw was probably a fair result. Loovens should have been off and it was never a penalty. I would be shocked if the same had been given in our favour. Garner was held down in the area before that and it wasn't given.

Should have been a penalty first half. Once that wasn't given, a great performance from Bart to maintain the point. Nice to see an opposition team able to take as many poor corners as we do!

A mixture of poor Forest finishing and some excellent keeping from Bart allowed Town to snatch the points despite being second best for much of the match. Town lacked creativity and strength in midfield and attack but Pringle's precise finish was the difference between the sides.

First half two solid defences. A change of attacking approach by Middlesborough at half time saw them play the ball on the ground much more and saw their superior quality show. McGoldrick gave a glimpse of what we are missing without him, Bishop and Bru.

Before the game I felt our best chance was if Ruddy made an early rash foul - red card for a key player and a penalty. In the end it was the other way round and it made all the difference. The evidence suggests that without such a game-changing moment we are two very evenly matched sides. I think they will be the underdogs at Wembley and perhaps we can finally get the better of them yellas again next season. Congratulations to MM and TC for the amazing job they have done. Another season of progress next season will do nicely. A fit and firing McGoldrick from the off would be like signing an £8M pound striker. A full season from Sears and a stronger, more experienced Bishop there are things to look forward to. Now the management knows which division we will be in it is time for them to firm up plans on players. COYB!

Both sides had a tendency to play the ball long - norwich utilising the strength and power of Jerome whilst Town tried to feed Murphy to play in Sears. Ruddy's shot-stopping proved sufficient to prevent Town earning a narrow win. Their failure to make the most of possession and what chances they did create will leave them believing they should have taken a lead back to their place. A typical, organised Mick McCarthy performance nullified any differences in quality. It promises to be another tight match to decide who goes to Wembley.

Took a point and looked good for all three for a considerable part of the match. £10K a considerable match for many millions. Jones from the bench was what the visitors needed as they struggled to turn possession into a real goal threat. The home side need the return of McGoldrick and Williams to support the excellent Murphy and Sears.
