Rishi's irony
at 12:02 2 Mar 2023

Advocating the NI protocol deal with the EU, Rishi Sunak said : -

"Northern Ireland is in the unbelievably special position of having privileged access, not just to the UK home market...but also the European Union single market...That's like the world's most exciting economic zone".

Ironically, that was the "privilege" the whole of the UK had before Brexit.

He is asking NI to embrace a position he campaigned against.

He's either a hypocrite or a clown.

Eddie’s sports commentary
at 15:50 14 Sep 2022

So, if perchance you feel there are certain sports commentators, whether on our own games or otherwise, who style or content you may not always agree with or be overly enamoured with …….,,then just remember Eddie.

The context. As far as GAA matches go, this match he commentated on years ago was low hanging fruit. And yet it reached many ears. And still does today. I was reminded of it during this week. So if you haven’t heard of Effin Eddie yet, here you go.

It’s in English by the way albeit with a distinctive Tipperary accent.

If Ukraine reach a Russian coloured agreement with this demon to save civilian lives, would the demon then turn to the world and insist that his peace settlement with Ukraine is conditional on all sanctions against Russia/Russians being withdrawn?

I wondered today if this is what might transpire and how the world leaders and peoples might react?

A Clarification
at 15:28 17 Sep 2021

I'm going to take an indefinite break from posting and before I do, I thought I'd address one particular issue (to those who have any interest) which has been floating around my busy head.

Before the Euro final, I made a post, the essence of which was to wish England well but also looked at some of the negatives. Having experienced the English riot in Lansdowne Road in 1995 (and some other experiences (including one or two at Portman Road)), I had reason to do so. I sought to balance my post by saying I had both good and bad experiences of England supporters. I set out how I liked GS and the England team.

I also gave an example of behaviour by Irish lads. I gave a specific example where some young clowns (I think in Dublin) had English supporters singing a particular chant. I felt (and still feel) it was apparent from my post that I didn't approve of that, having prefaced the example by stating that not all supporters behave themselves (albeit in the preceding paragraph). For the avoidance of any doubt, I did not approve of that or condone it. I didn't convey well enough my criticism of those Irish lads. It was my intention to say that whereas English fans don't always behave themselves, the same was true of Irish lads.

Insofar as that may have caused offence, I can only apologise to those who took offence. It was certainly never my intention to cause anyone any offence and I accept that I did not express myself very well. However, the labels flung at me that evening and what I experienced (whether then or since) by a few hasn't really left me. Whereas my wording may have been careless and not conveyed what I had intended to convey, there was nothing carless or unintended about what followed. .

I wouldn't like some negative experiences (whether on here or Lansdowne Road, or Portman Road or anywhere else) to define my relationship with Town so I thought I'd bail for a while with that clarification (to those whom it may concern).

Best wishes to you all.

Born in New York to an Irish Mother and Brazilian father, moved to Ireland aged 6, extradited to the USA and convicted, now jailed in the USA for 27 years over child abuse images. A large player/facilitator on the dark web and did it from the living room of his Dublin flat.

I'd have preferred if he got the rope or the chair.

This individual is despicable and beyond redemption.

John was preparing his family history. He was horrified when he learned he had an grand uncle who was executed for murder.

So, he worded his grand uncle's history as follows : -

"Grand Uncle George occupied the chair of applied electronics at a leading government institution. He was attached to his position. His death, when it came, came as a great shock".

BJ visited a village in the South of England.

He addressed the locals from the village square.

“I am dedicated to you. I’m here to listen. To help. What can I do for you”?

A villager spoke.

“We have a health centre but no doctor. We need a doctor”.

“I’m on it” said Bj, whipping out his mobile.

He spoke quite audibly to his phone, in front of his audience, emphatically repeating to whom ever may have been on the other end that the named village needed a doctor right now, that this was a matter of personal priority and repeating that this had to be resolved immediately. With phone to his ear, he stridently bellowed “sort this out now, for these good people”.

Putting down his mobile, he asked the villagers if they had any other needs.

The same villager spoke.

“We need mobile coverage here because we don’t have any” he said.

In breaking news, the FA are renegotiating Sunday’s result.

Lord Frost will lead the negotiations. A source close to Lord Frost has revealed that “our UEFA partners most show more flexibility. None of us clearly understood the consequences of finishing level and clearly it is not working for us. All options are on the table if UEFA do not address our concerns around the result”.

PS. To the 4 individuals whom I have on ignore. This is gentle satire. It is not racism against England.
