| News Comment | Bid Lodged For Al-Hamadi, New Offer For Gallagher Turned Down at 10:21:31
I have to say, watching this guy's goals on YT. He looks ideal - very strong and fast, often winning the ball in a high press, finish with both feet comfortably, knows where the goal is having scored 13 so far, with 6 assists. Hopefully he can make the step up to the Championship with development by McKenna - he does look far too good for league two already. |

add to that, the fact that all our away games sell out within minutes (I tried for Southend but my internet is too poor) |
| News Comment | Wycombe Game Rescheduled at 19:19:28
This is really irritating, as a season ticket holder who has to travel from Cambridge - Saturday games are much easier to get to, without being exhausted at work. And now there is almost 2 months where I can't go to Portman road, and then 2 games in a bloody week. We only had 2 first team players (not starters imo) actually called up. imo a very bad decision that doesn't take account of the fans. nor the fact that we'll likely have 2 matches a week for most of the second half of the season if we keep postponing ours - hopefully this doesn't come back to bite |
| News Comment | Lambert Expresses Transfer Frustrations: It's the Way the Club's Run at 12:05:43
Arguably the two most important signings of the close season haven't been filled. An experienced left footed CB to balance the defense (finally replacing Berra & Smith) And a large target man striker (finally replacing Daryl Murphy) Yes we needed a poacher and a left footed winger/midfielder But to not have those two key positions filled for a season in League 1 is utter madness We should have gone for Tom Eaves unrelentingly and Tilt |
| News Comment | Lambert Expresses Transfer Frustrations: It's the Way the Club's Run at 11:58:28
It's infuriating that the only two managers Evans has properly backed financially, have been the worst two managers of his reign. Keane spent millions on wash ups & might have beens Hurst spunked loads on lower league players Yet McCarthy was forced to play with pennies, and now Lambert isn't even getting that. Pathetically short sighted financial management from Evans. It's genuinely surprising he actually has a successful business in anything. |
| News Comment | Colchester United 0-5 Ipswich Town - Match Report at 19:40:25
from what I can tell from the report - us playing 442 in the second half was the game changer. But that's been the case since PL took over (always looked much better with 2 up top) Hopefully the penny will finally drop & PL will stick with a striking pair |

Glad other's have focused on the massive funk up by Mick/Evans regarding Berra, Smith (& Clarke). We have not had that left-right balance since :( |
| News Comment | Bishop Scan Today at 20:06:35
Absolutely heartbreaking for the lad :( I can only imagine how depressing it must be for him. Fingers crossed its only minor & he'll be back no later than September / October as he's such a good player he could shape our season. Get well soon Bishop |
| News Comment | Lambert: Another Striker Would Be Great at 22:31:59
In truth - I think we should have tried to sign Eaves in Jan (as he only had 6mnths of contract) and he might have kept us up (certainly better than Quaner or Keane - mainly because he's in form & fit!) |
| News Comment | Lambert: Another Striker Would Be Great at 22:29:30
@Saxon Harrison missed some sitters too. But his positioning was terrible imo (hence he had less to miss! :∆ ) @MSGasms & @LinkBoy Totally agree re: target man & Eaves. Personally I think he should have been higher on Lambert's list than Norwood We need a target man in this league for sure. (& to play 2 upfront!) @Jas - totally agree another striker + loan till Jan would be smart |
| News Comment | Lambert: We're Still Looking at Free Transfers at 17:59:04
Whilst I appreciate Evans is putting money into the club to cover the shortfall... The only way he is ever going to make any of that back is by gaining promotion to the championship (&prem) If he wants to achieve this then investing in proven quality for 2 positions is critical (a big striker - Tom Eaves would be perfect, he's even on a free!) And a Left footed Centre back to balance our defence. (@Terryf has got it spot on) Evans has consistently only funded the worst managers the club has had under his tenure - Keane & Hurst (Jewell didn't get much in comparison) I really don't get his 'logic' - not financially backing his better managers (McCarthy & now Lambert) e.g. if McCarthy had been given decent funding, we might have had a few play-off seasons rather than just the one... or been promoted when we were in touching distance in Jan... |
| News Comment | Lambert: Another Striker Would Be Great at 17:13:56
@Saxonblue74 Jackson scored 4 and looked a threat when paired with a bigger striker... If we can get Tom Eaves in (he's on a free) we won't miss Ellis Tom Eaves would partner really well with Norwood & Sears/Jackson and is exactly the man we need. Tall, strong an aerial threat, as well as not too shabby with the ball at his feet and pacey for his size. Scored 18+ the last 2 years in an average-poor Gillingham side. Hopefully with Ellis' wages off the books, Eaves is being lined up |
| News Comment | Town and Doncaster Linked With Former Miller Ball at 13:54:03
Sounds like he could be decent but I think we need a Left Footed CB - to replace Smith, Berra & even longer ago - Clarke (&Webster - good with both feet) That was one of our biggest issues last season - not having a balance across the back four |
| News Comment | Sears Wins Town Goal of the Season at 12:04:52
Surely Downes or Kenlock deserved Young Player of the Season. Lankester was great, but only played for a short period really |
| News Comment | Lambert: El Mizouni the One Bright Spark at Preston at 22:43:29
WHY ARE WE NOT PLAYING 442 DIAMOND WITH OUR SQUAD. How can he not see, 1 we don't have any natural wingers, 2 we don't have any loan strikers Its infuriating, as we've looked good in a 442 every single time ... And had we played 442 all season, I think we'd have avoided relegation |
| News Comment | Lambert: We Were Nowhere Near It, We Were Really, Really Poor at 10:15:58
Play 442 diamond ffs How bleeding obvious does it have to be. Judge is best in a CAM role. None of our strikers can play as a lone striker. None of our fit players are natural wingers (except Edwards) Lambert is really starting to annoy me with this 4-3-3 rubbish |
| News Comment | Lambert: Relegation Gut-Wrenching at 19:29:41
Lambert must play 4-4-2 for the remainder of this season and all of next. It's been abundantly clear all season that we've played much better with this formation. Playing 1 up front would have worked if we still had Murphy, but none of our current strikers is competent alone up front. Keane was the only one capable, but looked better in a pair |
