The Oxford players were all technically good
at 23:12 14 Jan 2020

Agreed. I thought they defended well but were impotent up front, considering the ref gave them so may decisions, and got them out of trouble several times, with a more balanced ref we would've won that game, and should do so next month at PR.

Funniest thing you have heard shouted at an Ipswich Match
at 20:31 8 Jan 2020

At the San Siro, after we had been beaten by Inter Milan and were locked in the ground for what seemed like the best part of an hour. A really fat bloke in an ITFC shirt is right at the front, and the Ipswich fans just started singing "Fat Bloke , Fat Bloke give us a song, Fat Bloke, give us a song". And he did. The Italian Carabinieri couldn't believe it, and there was a lot a laughter and merriment despite the result and the lock-in. Was a memorable moment on a great trip.

This rotten electoral system

It's got to be that in Brighton Pavillion, the electorate know it isn't a wasted vote. It just makes you wonder how many votes the minority parties would get if voters knew every vote would count. And I think the SNP result shows us what that could mean. We would have a very different political landscape, and far more attention to so-called minority issues, such as the environment, than the diversionary agendas of the main parties.

Oh, that's ok then. Let's just ignore the people concerned about the environment, because the ones in power and who vote for self interest don't want the system to change.

This rotten electoral system
at 08:37 15 Dec 2019

SNP 3.9% of votes - 48 seats
DUP 0.8% of votes - 8 seats
Sinn fein 0.6% of votes - 7 seats
Tories 43.6% of votes - 365 seats
Greens 2.7% of votes - 1 seat

Brexit was a sideshow. The planet is falling to bits, but the one party that puts the environment first cannot get its voice heard because of our biased electoral system. 2.7% of people is quite a lot, considering that nearly all of those people knew it was a wasted vote. If we had proportional representation, not only would the Greens have won about 17 seats based on the %, but would probably have won way more as the vote is no longer wasted. Meanwhile, under a Tory government, we will continue to be misled that the big issue was Brexit. And we will leave a ruined planet for our children and grandchildren.

A make shift team and a draw...is that what we really wanted?
at 10:20 10 Nov 2019

The way I see it, yes it would have been great to win, but we are still in with a shout, and really importantly we got competitive game time into a whole bunch of players. When we get to January/February teams around us will be struggling with key players missing, and their replacements will be weak. We will have players such as those who played yesterday, who will be match fit and will hardly notice the difference when 1 or 2 key players are missing. Another night on Tuesday to do the same. Its PL's masterplan.

I don't know about Keane either, he seemed to have the quality from what we saw last season, but PL is no mug and if he thinks Keane just needs game time then I'm happy to believe it.

So do you think they don't have enough quality to be in the squad? Or is it a case that they haven't had enough minutes of competitive match action? Because if it is the latter, PL did the right thing yesterday.

Top of the league with a game in hand. Still in the cup, biggest squad in the League, and managing to get game time into the entire squad, Scum are bottom of the league. FFS why is everyone moaning?? Be happy.

Nsiala and the penalty
at 08:41 10 Nov 2019

Just watched it about a dozen times. It was a swallow dive, Toto did nothing at all, the guy just dived to get a pen and the ref fell for it. Too many on here (and maybe opposition players) have it in their heads that Toto gives pens away, and he is being targetted. But he didn't commit a foul yesterday for that pen.

Prostate cancer is a killer, and raising awareness is good. Breast cancer is likewise a killer and also needs to have awareness raised. I have never seen a woman wearing a Prostate Cancer badge before, I just hope it is her choice and not any pressure exerted on her to do so.

Sadly email and phone as well as TV package. I cancelled the sports package, but it is a lot of disruption to all the family to have to change email addresses. What did you do?

Having cancelled my Sky Sports subscription (due to disgust that Bury were allowed to go bust with no support from the money in football - Sky and BT Sport) I still have access to sky Sports news. However, I just noticed that Bianca Westwood, who is at Aston Villa v Brighton, is wearing one of those Prostate Cancer badges. Has this become mandatory for any presenters on SSN? Bianca is lovely and thankfully has no chance of ever getting prostate cancer. Surely if she is wearing a badge, it should be breast cancer awareness? I do hope that she has not come under any pressure to wear a badge that is not applicable to her. That would be just another nail in the Sky coffin for me.

Wine. Also jam, but not in last 6 months. However, I'm organising a golf trip for a group of 20, and my top destination was Thracian Cliffs on the Black Sea coast. Some of the group are mixed race (aren't we all somewhere in our heritage?) and I just don't want there to be any risk of racism. So Thracian Cliffs is now off the list, and will look at Portugal instead.

You know what would probably have the biggest impact on stopping this. If there was a widespread (social media) unofficial campaign to stop buying any products made in Bulgaria. Let the Bulgarian government feel the pain and take some responsibility.
