Cardiff City 2-1 Ipswich Town - Match Report
at 20:37:22

I want to acknowledge how well this team has done over the past 2 seasons, and how much I love this team, before I launch into this game.

I don't get to see many games (live on tv), but this was one of the most insipid performances I have ever seen, no intensity, no drive - we got everything we deserved today.

It seemed like we were a midtable side with nothing to play for? Plenty of possession, but every time we got into the Cardiff half, we slowed it up and more often than not played the ball back to our defence - it was so easy for Cardiff. Sam Morsy excluded, were the players all waiting for someone else to do something? Was this the game plan? With 10 minutes remaining we were running the ball into the corner! Attack is the best form of defence ... I was just waiting for us to concede and was not surprised (twice).

A couple of special mentions - Kieffer Moore was awful, noting he took his goal very well. The ball basically bounced off him today and he couldn't link up with anyone in a white shirt, it makes you appreciate just how George Hurst brings other players into the game. Sarmiento is not a starter. Chaplin almost invisible today. And how does Wes Burns make a impact like he did against Bristol City and then decide not to take players on today?

McKenna: Conceding From the First Corner Makes It Really, Really Difficult

Sorry KM, but today I did have problem with the players’ effort and intent. No pace to our game, very easy for WBA - looked like men against boys. Hopefully a one-off and we bounce back against Millwall.

West Bromwich Albion 2-0 Ipswich Town - Match Report
at 21:42:40

I have no problem losing games to better sides, we have overachieved this season to date and I expect a few more losses.

What I do have a problem with, was the lack of energy, lack of intent, poor pressing - this is the minimum that we have to do to give us a chance. At 2-0 down we still looked lethargic, I'm struggling to understand - were the players just waiting for their team mates to do something?

Front 4 just didn't combine at all today - Chaplin missing again, Broadhead looked tired and our main outlet, Wes Burns slowed the ball down nearly every time he got it. WBA played well, but we made it very easy for them.

Williams the best for me today. Hladky and Morsy solid. Davis did okay, but lost his man for their first goal and was very lucky not to be booked for a dive in the area.

Think Taylor is better off the bench than starting and missed Hutchinson today. Scarlett at least offered some intent when he came on. Jackson just shinned it out and Ladapo's closing down is one-paced .... how about showing the fans you care, by putting in a sprint now and then, let the defenders/keeper know you are there.

KM needs to give these guys a kick up the a$$. Hopefully a wakeup call before Millwall.

Rotherham United 2-2 Ipswich Town - Match Report

Very frustrating game. Not sure why McKenna waited so long to make changes.

First goal avoidable, no need for Tuanzebe to play the ball across field, and overhit it putting Davis under pressure.

I'm not a Jackson hater, but in the final third of the pitch not one of his final balls went to an Ipswich player - struggling to see how anyone watching the game has rated him above a 5.

Chaplin again very quiet, verging on poor. Doesn't seem the same player without Burns and Broadhead around him. Looks like he needs a rest.

Ladapo running in treacle when he came on - didn't really look interested.

Obviously a stonewall pen in the first half on Hurst, but ref looked like a 'home' from the start.

At least we didn't lose. On to the next one.

It wouldn't surprise me to see Jackson given Burns place for this game, given his pace it might be a horses for courses selection....?

McKenna: There Will Be Movement Both Ways
at 07:17:58

I'm a little surprised by the number of fans saying Evans should be sold - he was very good at the start of last season before he was injured.

We will have injuries, suspensions and drops in form to deals with this season, I think he has a part to play.

With 9 on the bench, Ball should definitely be kept - with his experience and ability to play midfield and defence. He's the type of player to come on and close out a game.

IMO, we should look at sending El Miz and Baggott out on loan. And Pigott to leave permanently. Would also look to upgrade Jackson and Harness for better if we can find the right players.

Definitely inevitable - he couldn't maintain a permanent spot in either of the Crewe or Exeter teams. Maybe League Two level, but wish him all the best in the future.

Dom Ball is one of those under rated players, that can do a good job for us - close out close matches, play midfield or at the back. I know QPR fans who would love him back in their squad.

Assume Harper and Pigott are still under contract (?), but I expect both to move (perm or loan) one way or the other. Can't see Ahadme playing for us either....

Be interesting to see what happens with the likes of Ndaba, Baggott and El Mizouni - will they be good enough to break into the squad.

Big season for Camara, can he get fit or is he the next Tom Adeyemi?
