McKenna: Nothing Better Than Getting a Win Against Your Rivals
at 10:02:41

Kieron McKenna instills confidence and planning into the players before and during every game. And you can see the rewards by the league table and the standard of our play. If Norwich are to get anything from this game it will be by getting in the faces of town players. Trying to draw them from their normal game, and to upset their flowing football. Norwich would love a start stop game to get away from our winning formula style of football. The only reaction should be to ignore the niggles and play the football that has been obvious all season. Three points and at least a three goal win. COYB

Somehow think Edwards must be lined up to go somewhere and maybe one other fringe player to move on to release numbers in the squad to allow another one or two signing before tomorrow.

Keep your head up Panutche, players like yourself who recognises the disappointment it has to all at Ipswich Town are wished good luck in the recovery period. Everyone fully understands and we all wish you a speedy recovery. In my mind you will come back stronger and ready to help this talented group to bigger and better things. Former Loanee Luongo Training With Town
at 22:14:09

If he is fit and shows up in the trial period then I am sure our astute manager will sign him on for a short term deal. If he does not show enough to come into a good squad then he will go elsewhere.

McKenna: One of the Best Performances Since I’ve Been Here
at 15:13:48

In my honest opinion I am sure KMcK is fully aware of what type of player/s he needs in the January window. He is very sensible in keeping his cards close to his chest as the present players do not get concerned for their own futures and keep the team spirit high and there is another six weeks before the window opens. Just look what has happened in the last six weeks with injuries, it is so so hard to finalise our needs. I am sure KMcK is working in conjunction with his assistants on lining up possibilities to come in and possibly go out. I am sure everything is going to plan and we do not need to worry.

Evans: We Were Confident the Game Was There For Us to Win
at 11:44:26

And having goals come from all over the pitch adds to the closeness and team spirit of the squad. Team spirit is high because everyone within the squad is contributing with good performances and goals plus good defending when needed. Our bench yesterday was stronger than any other in the division. 11 players are not going to win this league. It is a squad and a brilliant manager and backroom staff that will win it. Long May this confidence continue.

McKenna: It’s Already Pretty Fixed in My Mind What Needs to Be Improved in the Summer
at 13:05:39

The earlier the right players can be brought in the better, move on the ones set to leave. Then the new season training can include all new and present players in next seasons squad, Signings near to the start of the season take time to get used to other players and the earlier it is sorted the better. One player who I do think would be a good signing is Mark Noble from West Ham, he has played here before and has a season or two left in his legs and a wealth of experience which I think is one thing which has been missing this last season. But in K Mc we have an astute Manager who I totally trust to get our club going upwards next season.

Jackson: I Feel Like a Footballer Again
at 20:52:22

Jayden Jackson has like Janoi Donacien been proving the doubters and previous managers wrong. Donacien this season has shown that he is a very good player at this level and I think Jackson will also become an important part of the new managers strategy. Kieren McKenna is a tactician who looks at details others would not think about and transfer those ideas into players minds all tailored for each match with different challenges. This manager has reduced his squad to include players who he will use in different ways to hopefully achieve promotion and Kayden Jackson is one cog in a wheel heading upwards.

McKenna: It’s Pleasing That They’ve Met My Standards So Far
at 11:24:23

We all hope that this manager is what this club has been crying out for. After years of disappointment the first impressions seem good and his comment of it being a big squad is interesting because to much choice was part of Cooks failure. A settled smaller squad could be the way forward. I feel a number of players will go in this window with a couple coming in to get the squad size where KM wants it to be. Let's hope he gets the start he seems to have worked for and pleases the large following tonight. COYB.

McGreal: Sometimes Patience is the Key
at 16:38:20

On many occasions in cup games ITFC have put a team of fringe players out for the match, only to later on bring on regular players to save us losing. Why not play the regulars from the start and if the game is under control and we are winning introduce the fringe players later on.

McGreal: Nowhere Near Good Enough
at 23:11:20

After all the happenings at Portman Road over the last 10 years now is the time the decision needs to be right so to move the club forwards In recent times it has been stagnation some seasons and backwards in the last 3 or 4 years. We need a strong personality who does not suffer fools easily, someone who talks to the press and supporters with honesty, someone who is an experienced manager/coach. And someone who has an experienced back up team. For to many years the appointments have lacked in some areas but now is the time for this club to move forwards with the backing of the present owners. A manager to has a proven record is paramount and it is not the time to give a lesser experienced person the job. Onwards and upwards.

McGreal Confirmed as Interim Manager
at 11:04:42

People appointed who by and large know and understand ITFC and also who supporters can trust which is a flying start. Just hope the next month goes well for them and we will see which players really want to play for their shirts. Everyone of the players starts from square one and hard work and dedication is needed from all our players to not only earn a shirt but keep hold of it. And hopefully a formation to please the eye and get supporters wanting to watch week in week out. Our season is going to be defined in the next four or five weeks. Hopefully pushing for a play off place and into the third round of the FA Cup. Come on you blues.

Manager Cook Sacked
at 13:29:29

Well the axe has fallen, some might say unfairly and others will be cheering. But in life you sometime have to help yourself and Paul Cook's failure to appoint an assistant was I feel his real undoing. He had coaches capable without being really good and he seemed to have no one with proven knowledge to bounce ideas off on the touchline. The complaints concerning no plan B is because of that, an assistant would have given a second opinion. But perhaps his stubbornness was not helping him either. I wish him good luck for the future and now ITFC can hopefully look forward to getting back on track in the next month with a cup win and a good amount of league points to get into the play off places. We must all have faith and back the next man and Mr Ashton will need to get it right because it will be his appointment to make for the first time at this club. And certainly the players will need to prove to the new manager otherwise they will be on their way and new recruits brought in.

Ipswich Town 2-2 Arsenal U21s (3-4 on pens) - Match Report
at 22:36:03

Many clubs fire managers after a couple of bad results and some do it many times over. Ipswich Town have always given managers time, sometimes to much time. To have any chance of achieving anything this season it needs action to replace Paul Cook as soon as possible. It then gives a new manager time to watch videos of our games, and watch a few games before decisions need to be made on who to release and who to bring in to try and resurrect our season. Paul Cook's downfall is his stubbornness not to appoint an assistant and not having a plan B. When he makes changes they are either to late or hurried after going behind or being pulled back in matches like tonight. Shame as I thought he would be good for us but an established manager is required as soon as possible.
