This is like a replay of last season. How many points do you think will it take for the autos? |
| Forum Thread | Leicester have four away matches in a row at 18:45 2 Mar 2024
Including the FA Cup, Leicester have 4 away matches in succession. All 3 Championship fixtures are against sides in or near the upper half of the table (Sunderland, Hull, and Bristol City). This could be an absolutely epic run-in. [Post edited 2 Mar 18:47]

| Forum Thread | A sloppy mess at 17:59 17 Feb 2024
Conditions were so sloppy, it’s tough to come to conclusions about the quality of play. Certainly not a lot of free-flowing football and many of our passes went to invisible players. We held up well, though, despite the scrums 🎉 and sogginess. |
| Forum Thread | 5 goals on 5 shots on goal over the last 2 games at 17:31 3 Feb 2024
Our opponents have had a grand total of 5 shots on goal over the last two games (Cup game and this one) and scored 5 goals (granted, one was an own goal). Meanwhile, we've had 63 shots over that span and scored only 3. One would be inclined to believe we're still on the right track- just hitting a patch of extreme misfortune. |

| Forum Thread | We simply don’t match up well against Leeds, that’s all at 15:54 23 Dec 2023
In every league in every sport at every level there are teams who simply don’t match up well and we don’t match up well against Leeds. It doesn’t mean we need to make wholesale changes or question our validity- we just don’t have the proper tools in our toolbox to fit the hexheads they present. Back to PR and Leicester, playing our game with our style. COYB. |

Right. We just don’t match up well against Leeds. And situations like that happen in every league, in every sport, at every level. |

It happens. We move on. COYB! |

Still well on-target. Based on ten-year averages in the Championship, here’s what we would need to do the rest of the way to reach the play-offs or earn automatic promotion: Play-offs: • 22 more points from our remaining 24 matches for a total of 74 (10-year play-offs average) o That’s an average of .917 points per match o Example: win 6 draw 4 lose 14 (worst case scenario) Automatics: • 38 more points from 24 matches for a total of 90 (ten-year automatic promotion average) o That’s an average of 1.583 points per match o Ex: win 11, draw 5, lose 8 Goal differentials notwithstanding. We are presently on a 2.36 point per match pace and have 12 home matches and 12 away matches remaining. |
| Forum Reply | Remember our mantra: one game at a time at 00:05 14 Dec 2023
If you were to ask Kieran McKenna how he would assess our season at this moment, he would likely say exactly what he said in April. Yes, we’ve set records and put a 10-point gap between us and 3rd place. We have done things no other team has done. But we’re still just 21 games into the season with 25 more to play. We need to keep pounding, one game at a time, game after game after game, without assuming we have margin for error, because until we have done it, we have not done it. McKenna understands that. It’s what drives him and keeps him and our side focused. [Post edited 14 Dec 2023 0:15]

“Nothing is done yet - that’s so obvious that it hardly needs to be said. We’re on an incredible run… (but) we have no margin (for error) and neither do the other teams. It’s a really competitive top of the division. We have to keep performing." On his 'one game at a time' mantra: “It’s been our way all season. It’s something we spoke about from the first day in pre-season.We talked about how we were going to focus on us and our performances, not worry too much about the outcome, focus on the process and try to improve each day, prepare for every game in a professional manner and trust that we’d pick up results along the way.” Kieran McKenna, April 2023, and still spot-on today. https://www.eadt.co.uk/sport/23469807.ipswich-town-kieran-mckenna-insists-nothin |
