| News Comment | Town Topic: Memories of The Beat at 18:17:19
I never had the privilege of seeing him play, his last game in the 1981 Semi was a year or two before I started going to games. But in the early 00's, I was secretary of our Sunday league club in the LTL, and he was part of the committee from one of the other teams and I knew someone who knew him who was also at the League meetings. He was a friendly guy, very down-to-earth and would talk to anyone - no airs or graces whatsoever. If you didn't know who he was and what he had done as a younger man, you'd have just thought he was just another guy. More recently, I've seen him in the Fanzone, again, talking to anyone who would come up for a chat, including men 10+ years older than me who were proper star-struck and could barely get their words out. RIP The Beat. |
| Blog Comment | Sam Allardyce – The Sensible Choice? at 10:18:56
One minor point of order.... Allardyce wasn't Bolton manager for the PO Semis in 1999, Colin Todd was, Fat Sam didn't take over until Sept 1999. |

Chicago... That was due to Sept 11th... We should have played the week before, but UEFA put the games back a week due to the air chaos and uncertainty following 9/11. As for TV games, the less the better. They're a pain in the arse. |

Because Sat 3pm games can't be shown on tv. I know Burnley v ITFC probably be won't be screened, but all games on last day of the season have to kick-off at the same time. |

Clearly signed as CB cover for the rest of this month as we only have 2 CBs at the moment while MM works on a deal for longer-term signing. |
| News Comment | Blues Face Luton in Pre-Season at 12:25:10
Wally, we usually only have one home pre-season game and loads of away ones, what's the problem? We usually get such small crowds to home pre-season games, we probably make a loss on them. Where as for lower league clubs, playing bigger clubs in pre-season is a valuable source of income for them. |

Excellent - I think you've covered every point that has led us to this point, highlighted the mess, identified what we all want and how we could do it. Usually when I read a post / blog on here, I agree with some of it, but not all. I'm struggling to find a single sentence I don't agree with in this one. One nail you've hit on the head in particular is the one regarding fitting a system around our current big-earning midfielders, not the other way round. |

TractorMan, have you seen how fans get to the Upper Tier? Through the same turnstiles as the Lower tier and past the entrance to Legends. It can't work. |
