If Troy needs a rest then I’d like to see Kayden come in. Don’t want to see Norwood isolated again and it’s a chance to impose ourselves on a neat and tidy Lincoln side and keep their centre halfs on their toes with those two rather than let them play. |

Downes in you’d imagine. Edwards replacing Bennett’s? Doubt Judge will be back yet. I hope we stick with the direct style that has brought us success of late against a technically gifted Lincoln side. Keep Rogers and Johnson quiet and we may have a chance |

My wife’s grandad John Smith was signed by sir Alf in the early 60’s. He was only 16 at the time but he is in the team photo of the title winning team of 1961/1962. He’s gutted to of never played a first team game as he was earmarked for his debut however Alf went off to England and Milburn came in. John was the only youngster whose contract was expiring and was let go without Milburn even seeing him play. He was offered terms at another professional club however by this time he started a family young and played locally for Lowestoft Town. He’s a wonderful man who has introduced to me to ipswich town greats before games as he sits with the ex players in the Sir Alf upper. |

I’m from Lowestoft. In recent times the town has become more diverse. I don’t think it’d be a problem at all. The “too white” areas are more out in the countryside. I don’t think you have anything to worry about |

What I’m saying with the loan fee is that a large chunk of the loan fee can go to forest to keep paying his wages and we pay the rest. So say Walker would be on 8K a week. So we pay forest a big loan fee for them to keep paying him say 6K a week and we make up the other 2K with our cap. Deals like this will be done. In theory we will still pay his wages but through a loophole in the cap |

He’d of got 25 easy. Get around the salary cap by paying a hefty loan fee to forest so they continue to pay some of his wages in which we’d pay as much as we could. |

Walker would fit our system perfectly. Top striker in this league and still has some levels to go. Get him with a loan to buy. Hefty loan fee to cover the wages. Go do it. |

I don’t know if you listened to the latest kings of anglia podcast but stuart Watson was spot on. He pretty much has 6 very organised players and his front 4 do what they want. Think Hoilett and Mendez Lang at Cardiff. His wingers and proper wingers. Not converted to wide midfielders like Sears was under Mick |
| Forum Reply | 4 - 4 - 2 at 17:32 4 Feb 2020
Yes but he occupies one of the oppositions midfielders, so is still a midfield 3 |
| Forum Reply | 4 - 4 - 2 at 15:51 4 Feb 2020
I think the actual problem with us playing the 4-4-2 is that we only have 1 centre midfielder capable of playing it. Flynn Downes. A list of partnerships that don’t work Downes and Skuse. Not creative enough. Skuse too slow to cover the ground. Downes and Dozzell. Dozzell can’t play in a 2, too lightweight although creative. Downes and Huws. Would still only trust Huws in a 3 but would have perhaps the most potential. Downes and Nolan. Nolan too negative and inconsistent. I’d like to think Garbutt and Sears/ Edwards would be good wide options with Kenlock and Donacien as full backs. Perhaps sears LM with Garbutt overlapping to put balls in. Norwood and Jackson have to be the pair going forward. In whatever formation. Especially in a 4-4-2 which is built on Lamberts “pressing style” those guys up front never give defenders a rest and are constantly on the move. |

I liked reading how lambert has talked to him about the LCB role and what he expects from him. That should mean Woolfie switch to the right and Chambers SW. Balance. |

I got slated saying this exact same thing a couple of months ago when we were 2nd. Funny what a bad run of results can do |

I’m speaking from the view of what it looks like the club is going to do. Lambert seems very keen to sell as he wants to build his own squad. Yes he’s technically sound. But did his technical ability stand out at any time in the championship last season? No. You could say Nolan is technically sound as are a lot of our players. I’m just saying i think premier league clubs which many may have only seen him play a a few times see these things. 1. English 2. Under 21 3. £££££ Luckily for clubs outside the premier league these players are valued so highly which sometimes doesn’t reflect how good they may actually be. See Josh Murphy |

He’s alright technically, but not sure if technically good enough around other premier league players. I’d say his ceiling would be a top end championship club |
