Norwood and Oldham
at 09:43 19 Apr 2024

People don't want to hear that because they didn't like him (understandably).

It makes me me laugh that they pretend he wasn't the best player we had until the takeover happened, bar Downes probably. We only ever looked competent when he was in the team. And ironically he made a big impact when he came back in when Cook left too.

Our 3 league games AFTER (International) breaks this season...
at 23:17 18 Apr 2024

This is only slightly relevant but we've only dropped points at home to;
Leeds
Norwich
Leicester
QPR (depleted squad)
West Brom
Watford
Boro

And only one defeat.

English sides heading out as it stands (n/t)

I reckon it would have come a lot earlier if they'd got Doku on earlier. They needed a bit of pace and someone to beat a man.

It reminded me how nice it will be to have Burns back when we do.

That's harsh, they could have easily scored in that first half. They looked handy and solid at the back.

Yeah, fair, I reckon Hirst covers more ground though.

Morsy is a given but beyond that it's probably Hirst. If we get promoted with him having missed 4 months then it'll be incredible (it will be anyway).

He works harder than any striker I've seen maybe since Kuqi, and he's got quality.

Mass is so unique. I don't remember another player who came through as a young, ball playing, deep lying midfielder with not much meat on him, to someone so stocky and combative in his latter years but who still has the skill and quality that he started out with.

Hasn't scored a shed load but the ones he has have generally been brilliant.

McKenna rallying the crowd after the game yesterday
at 12:19 15 Apr 2024

The more I watch that chance back from Sarmiento the more I think it's a bad miss. Why did he toe poke it? The keeper wasn't exactly on top of him, he could have met it on the bounce with the inside of his foot.

McKenna rallying the crowd after the game yesterday
at 23:21 14 Apr 2024

Might sound silly but the crowd put a lot into that game yesterday. There was pretty much constant noise and songs all game and that rarely happens, even during a season like this.

It was a stressful and slightly frustrating game to watch. The final whistle was just a bit of a come down and everyone knew how amazing a goal and an extra two points would have felt.

If available, does Wes come straight back in?

Yes. If he was fit and played yesterday we win, I'm 95% sure of it.

Yesterday was a great occasion, made even better by Leeds losing so close to kick off.

But it wasn't enjoyable. I was stressed the whole game.

You literally said it yourself, the opposition (Ipswich) could have ended up scoring too. Time wasting from their own goal kicks and defensive throw ins makes perfect sense, their best chance of scoring a goal was from when our own attacks broke down.

Arguably they played a blinder. Our keeper had to make two brilliant saves and they limited us to half chances.

3 teams on 88 as it stands is quite frankly ridiculous. (n/t)

I'm probably wrong but has this scenario not happened a few times before?*

*Ignoring the fact there's a newly promoted side in the mix amongst three relegated clubs.

Strange feeling this morning.

I think of it as being a nice homage to a player who served us very well in our journey but one that we've completely outgrown in the space of 9 months.

Chaplin has his own song anyway!

Who did we play this time last week?

Oh yeah, the team in 6th who don't even want to get into the play offs because they don't want to play us over two legs and because they'll be humiliated in the PL again if they get there.

What is your team v Middlesbrough
at 09:01 12 Apr 2024

Don't complicate it, unless injuries/illness etc.

Vas
Clarke Wolf Burg Davis
Morsy Luongo
Hutchinson Chaplin Broadhead
Moore

It's our best XI by a distance (barring current injuries).
