KVY was blistering today, totally agree with his high marks but it looks like Dozzell is going to get a poor rating which can only come from people who listened on the radio and no one who saw the match. Every touch he has is forward thinking, like Judge was last year, and it doesn't always work out but we need more players thinking like that and he was pivotal in the goal. Shame for him.
I marked the ref down in this one as he didn't seem to notice anything that happened more than a nanosecond after the ball had gone and pushing in the back or leaning on shoulders were ignored at all times.
That said if we were playing a Prem team he's exactly the ref I'd want. We did well being the better team and getting little protection today. |

Neymar was good... erm I mean Barry Cotter (Who knew there were young lads called Barry these days?).
In all seriousness, can we retain MM as a full/wing back scout? I know he didn't find Cresswell but Mings £10k, Knudsen £100k ish?, Spence Free, Kenlock from academy and Now Cotter for very little too.
If Cotter can place 60 yard cross-field balls onto the big toe of Celina (or whoever) on a regular basis and keeps showing the same desire and drive he did before being sawn off too early on 55 minutes, he's definately going to make a difference.
Another thing, anyone know our league record with Knudsen playing at center half? He was there for most of that opening run of wins and is back now. Maybe a bit of technical ability there helps us push forward from the back. With Spence on the other side our three center halves all looked comfortable on the ball (For center halves anyway!) |

I know this may be out of date by the time you read it, but as it stands Bartosz has a 7.7 after conceding 3 goals and Spence has 7.8 after losing about 30 1v1 headers.
Strangely though I agree, Spence had a horrible job today, playing out of position and couldn't win a header (Late goal aside of course!) to save his life. What he did do however was cope with the ensuing chaos, just about well enough to concede one less than them. Bart also had a hard day because, having identified out weak point, Millwall kept picking at it all match and starting play, in a around the 18 yard box.
Today was hard work in our own half. |
