Cadiar - some of us don't like losing, especially to inferior teams, whether the games are friendlies or not. Just deal with that, there's a good boy.

McKenna Signs New Deal
at 10:57:02

To be honest the length of contracts in football don't seem to mean a lot these days but there is no doubting this is good news. KM deserves the chance to finish what he has started and so do the club and fans.

With all the play-acting, cheating, diving, trying to get fellow professionals yellow or red-carded, goalkeepers falling to the ground like they've been shot after making a simple catch, etc etc, and they're worried about effing towels???

I'm not going to lie - I do feel gutted we couldn't have added the Div 1 champions trophy to our cabinet to hopefully kiss this depressing division goodbye for good, but as everyone has said, the main thing is we're up and so we can now plan for a much more promising future.

Big congratulations to Plymouth. I've been disappointed to read some pretty ungracious and bitchy comments about them over the season. Their achievement on a fraction of our budget is huge, but I agree that we will possibly adapt to the championship better.

Overall a great season: we got there in the end after three previously long and very depressing campaigns. Congratulations again to the club, players, and management; and all the fans too, especially those who remained confident throughout. Respect.

Happy summer, all.

I'll be honest, it's hard to hold back the tears as I watch the celebrations with the manager, the players and their families doing a lap of honour. Absolutely brilliant. Proof that we are the best football family club in the land.

That mid-season blip seems so far away now. We lost ground as a result but the run we've put together to make up for it and get promoted has been fantastic and today was the stuff football dreams are made of. I really, really hope we can end the season on a high next week by winning the title. I'm being greedy now but I want us to go up as champions!

warktheline - you predicted this and I genuinely admired your confidence all the way through, even if at times I didn't share it. As Blueboy says, let's all enjoy this moment together.

What a great way to start the holiday weekend! COYB!

Finally got the internet back after moving house and have spent the last 20 minutes catching up on TWTD!

The last two games have been nothing short of phenomenal. It just keeps getting better and better and this run we've been on has also been outstanding.

Almost there, but I really want us to go up as champions now. We deserve it.

We're still well positioned to get promoted automatically, maybe as champions, but it's all getting pretty tense isn't it! You just feel that one slip up now could prove so costly so well done for turning the game around tonight. A few months ago we could easily have only drawn or even lost that game. One of the pleasures of recent weeks is seeing the genuine belief in the team, and the squad and management as a whole.

Well played. And that superior goal difference could yet come into play.

Derby County 0-2 Ipswich Town - Match Report
at 17:16:39

Very professional win and an unbelievable run continues. This is a completely different team now to the one who were seemingly running through quicksand before and after Christmas. Much of the credit for this clearly has to be given to McKenna, not just for his management but also his recruitment in the transfer window. We seem to have become completely rock solid now whereas mid-season be were vulnerable, both on the pitch and mentally.

And almost as enjoyable is this no-goals-conceded run! I believe it's a club record now? I don't want it to end! I have to say though, I couldn't see anything wrong with Derby's disallowed goal, but I think we're overdue a big decision going in our favour!

Great stuff, Town.

warktheline - you really are a strange person, aren't you? Why do you always have to have a dig at people you don't agree with? Why can't you just celebrate the win? You throw your toys out of the cot when the so-called moaners are making valid points after poor performances, but you're the one who has constantly added a negative vibe over the past few weeks during this great run.

Never looked in trouble to be honest. And that clean sheet run...wow!

We're clicking at the right time, there is confidence all over the pitch, and Morsy can start tackling again!

Bolton Wanderers 0-2 Ipswich Town - Match Report

This is the form we showed at the start of the season. If we hadn't had that long blip either side of Christmas we'd be close to promoted already. Today is probably one of the best results of the season and someone please check the record books re. minutes played without conceding! Six games is phenomenal and kudos to Walton for keeping it going!

I'm not celebrating Plymouth's loss to Barnsley quite as much as some because I see them as a growing threat - the away game against them in a couple of week's time is massive, as is Derby away a week later. But on this form it might not be a concern!

Very, very well done today. We still can't afford to drop unnecessary points but we're building nicely for the climax.

Brilliant, Town!

Four wins on the trot — FIVE clean sheets in a row! This is more like it! We're back to our start of season form.

Okay, so we should be beating the teams we've played recently but you've still got to go out and do it. The next five games are way more difficult but winning and winning well recently will breed huge confidence. We look a different team to the one that were so poor between Nov-Jan.

Very well done to the team and KM.

Ipswich Town 4-0 Burton Albion - Match Report
at 18:15:41

Excellent win today. I was getting a bit anxious after the first 20 minutes but thankfully we stepped up and blew them away. More difficult games to come after Tuesday but this run will be building confidence for sure, albeit against teams we really should be beating anyway. Hopefully we can run into consistent form now at the right time of the season.

warktheline and skip73 - isn't it about time you and your ilk grow up and stop the constant sardonic criticism of those who don't see things the way you do? The way we were playing and the results we were getting were causing concern amongst many of us that we could slip away completely and blow the wonderful start to the season we had. That's completely different to people being negative. As it is we are still in a massive fight to gain automatic promotion, and the play-offs, if that's where we end up, will be a nerve-wracking lottery for all of us. Not sure you possess the ability to understand the nuances of people's disappointments, concerns and worries but at least have a try.
