Palace Reportedly Fail in Move For McKenna
at 19:06:51

I agree Reality - At the moment we are punching way above our weight. If KM pulls off the miracle and we get promoted few of the current squad will survive the step up and he’ll have a major building job to do. If we don’t make it he’ll still need to rebuild, particularly at the back, if we are to challenge again next season.

Add in the reality of what he would earn in the Prem, and what it would represent for his family, and I could not begrudge him a move if that were to be his choice. He has done wonders for our club and I shall be forever grateful whatever happens at the end of this season.

So all in all I’m guessing that at the end of the season if we are not promoted he will move on to a new challenge.

I imagine they will want to give Sarmiento just half an hour in his first match. That means not starting but coming on after an hour.

Rotherham Match Postponed
at 19:38:31

I understand the disappointment and frustration from people who set out to travel but to say that anyone with half a brain could see this would happen and to criticise is unfair. If you knew it would happen why try to travel?

Understand the frustration but the club, the EFL, Health & Safety, Local Council and police were all party to the decision.

I was looking fwd to seeing it on Sky and I’m pretty fed up so can only imagine what those who travelled must feel.

Oldham Athletic 1-2 Ipswich Town - Match Report
at 23:51:37

I was at the game and though we started slowly and Oldham piled forward we grew into the game. It was good to see us playing out from the back with smooth confident passing. We lacked the final pass and a decent centre forward but some of the approach play was excellent. The long ball days of MM a distant memory. Second half there only looked to be one winner with Oldham chasing shadows for the most part. Neither Pigot nor Jackson have got what's needed to lead the line. They need replacing in the next window.

Brentford Join Blackburn and QPR in Chase For Dozzell
at 07:32:23

A lot of the posts on here are missing the point. He might well perform better in a higher league but he hasn't performed in this league. We have got to fight our way into a higher league. Cook will want players who can get us there. Once there we will be able to go back into the market again for Championship players. We do not need players on the books and drawing a salary if they are not equipped for the job at hand.

It must be hard for you lot to acknowledge that the game was drawn with not one shot on Towns goal. ....... and whisper it quietly but....Chambers was playing too!
We were unlucky not to win.

How about an apology to MarinersMagic 😁

Town Propose Play-Off Expansion
at 12:34:30

Disappointing as it is to Finish mid table some of the ranting on here is beyond me. In the context of the financial sh**storm that is about to engulf lower leagues I for one am relieved that we have an owner who, for all his faults, has funded the club and attempted to keep the financial model within the realms of reality. Certainly I am happy not to have an overseas owner who might be gone tomorrow leaving the club high, dry and busted.

Jackson Contract Talks Reportedly Stall
at 15:49:56

All these - not good enough for the Championship comments are amusing.
In case you haven't noticed we are in the division below the Championship. We are not operating on a Championship budget. We have a Div 1 budget and Div 1 players. Perhaps a few could step up and play in the Championship, perhaps not.
If we manage to get out of this division and into the Championship then our budget would change as would many of the players. Even then with the artificial financing that many of the Championship sides currently have it would be very difficult to compete. Unless the rules on financing clubs are tightened and applied consistently this situation is unlikely to change any time soon.
That's the reality.

Lambert Signs New Deal

To those of you complaining that Evans is rewarding failure I take it that if by say July you are not running the companies that employ you you will expect to get sacked as failures.

As we entered this season I thought that anything less than play off places would be relative failure. So far so good.

U18s Exit Premier Cup at Leiston
at 18:06:08

Blueboy you seem to have a bit of a problem. In the context above it is self evident that when I say that they show quite some promise this refers to the possibility that they make it as professional footballers. The majority of under eighteen players do not make the grade. You just have to look through the Leiston or Woodbridge teams to see that!

As a badged coach I can tell you that it is the pushy parent or angry amateur who needs to win everything. The professional coach looks to take a more intelligent approach with young players.
