Chambers: Maybe We've Been Naïve at Times
at 18:51:24

I feel sorry for the players having to do interviews when they know there will always be some smart-Alec or cynical comments, whatever they say. I would imagine they would far rather be concentrating on their football and bet there is hardly a queue of players lining up. Luke Chambers always gives an honest interview and doesn't deserve the vitriol he gets from some quarters.

Lambert: A Win's a Win But it Won't Change the Negativity
at 20:44:34

I thought the Kayden Jackson interview was a great listen. An articulate and reflective player. Happy that the other interview was much shorter. In any business/organization, good results always head off trouble and get people back on board. It really is as simple as that.

Town Draw Portsmouth at Home in FA Cup First Round

It will no doubt be televised as well. Two old giants slugging it out in round 1. Was dreading Plymouth away, so could have been worse.

Dyer Returning as Town U23s Coach

Anything that improves our scouting has to be a good thing. There is likely to be a big squad churn next summer so makes sense to improve this aspect.

Tottenham Left Winger Georgiou Joins on Loan

Starting to see the type of team Lambert wants to build in the long term. It will certainly be exciting to watch. If the team can cut out the unforced errors, it will fly.

Ipswich Town 1-2 Reading - Match Report
at 19:26:33

This has been a long time coming. Without Bialkowski at his best we would been down two years ago. If we sell/offload ten of the mediocre players to get a decent striker it will be good business in the summer. We simply have too many players that are OK but very very few that are consistently 7/10.

Not so long ago we would have lost this game. The ship is slowly turning. Probably too late but at least giving some (cruel?) hope.

Norwich City 3-0 Ipswich Town - Match Report
at 15:16:51

Had an interesting conversation with a Norwich fan last week - not so long ago, fans there were arguing with each other with plenty wanting rid of Farke and frustrated with the board. Football can change so quickly and it is a shame to see some people throwing abuse at other fans on here for what is, after all, just a set of opinions by amateurs. I have supported this club for 40 years and have always been proud of the way most Ipswich fans conduct themselves - we are frustrated and have different ideas about how to go forward but there is no need to hurl mistyped abuse at other fans. For my part I think the squad is suffering from the lack of an out-and-out striker. The nearest we have his Harrison so I hope he gets a run of games now. The main priority should be keeping hold of the young players so well can start again next summer.

Ipswich Town 0-1 Sheffield Wednesday - Match Report
at 09:26:07

My third match attended under PL and yesterday was the worst. Having been very enthusiastic about PL's start at itfc I am beginning to worry about his one-dimensional tactics and leaving substitutions too late.
If Sheffield Wednesday were better at finishing it would have been 0-3. Draws are not good enough so cannot understand the lack of a gamble for the last 1/4 of the match. When you are freezing cold on the North Stand, you just want some attempts on goal - if we lost 3:1 we would have at least had a goal to celebrate.

Town Confirm Lambert and Staff Will Stay Even If Blues Go Down
at 18:50:25

Brilliant news. Reckon I will become a season-ticket holder next season, whatever happens. I think the club suits Lambert and he has certainly lifted the whole place. It feels like the club of old.

Hurst: I Don't Think the Group as a Whole Bought into What We Were Trying to Do
at 07:47:15

Not one player brought in from the Championship. The Ipswich scouting network did well under MM but Hurst went on record to say he wanted control over who came in. It is easier to buy into a philosophy when the manager has either played at the highest level or has the intellect to get it across in a convincing manner - this is what marks out the Premiership managers.

Ipswich Town 1-1 Sheffield United - Match Report
at 20:10:19

Last at the West Brom game and this was definitely a much better defensive performance. The midfield always seemed outnumbered and their were too many long balls that simply got pinged back. I felt Edwards was a bit of a passenger at times. Chalobah and Pennington had a great game. Hope Ellis's goal is the beginning of a decent run for him as he worked really hard. If we can get a striker and midfielder that can hold on to the ball further up the field I am sure we can improve like Hull have done.

Nottingham Forest 2-0 Ipswich Town - Match Report

We are currently the most charitable club in the Championship - yeah! No matter how badly other teams have been playing we can guarantee that we will gift them goals and an evening, warm in the glow of three easy points. Merry Christmas fellow teams.
