Although Chuck cost us £2.2million we will have invested somewhere in the region of £3.7million with wages and fee's since he signed.
"He cost us £2.2m two years ago and we are going to let him go for free. How the heck does that work?" It works because giving him a new 3 year contract would cost us c. £3m in wages and signing on fees alone + c.£1m bonuses.
Let him go and it costs us nothing and we get around £14k in wages back to put toward Bullard. Win win. Lets leave the football business to the club eh?

Showed some good touches last night with one outstanding save in the first half.
Distribution was a bit wayward at times, one massively overhit freekick springs to mind, which shot above crossbar height for a goal kick.
Vocal, until the ball enters the final third, doesn't command his area well.
Thought he looked ok though, needs to develop his confidence, seemed to have an arm round his shoulder from one of the Stockport coaching staff at half time. |
