McKenna said he was "back on the grass" the other day which I assume means light running etc away from the full training sessions

Blackburn allocation
at 13:44 19 Mar 2024

We get three points for a win there, same as Norwich, so would be nice to see that lower tier full of ITFC at least, to give the players some backing and cancel out the home support which is likely to be sparse given their form and the fact it's on Sky.

Appreciate it's a long journey etc

Beginning of the end for Blue Action?

Should I distance myself from the Russian invasion of Ukraine? I mean, I've never been there but there's no smoke without fire. If I don't say something official, people might get the wrong idea.

No details released as yet. You'd imagine with Southampton selling out today and Wednesday already sold out, they'll switch their attention to Ewood Park early next week

Williams back for Blackburn? Even if not, will be nice to have a two week break for players like Massimo who have looked leggy recently.

"Credit by association" is how they seem to operate these days.

Battered them in the derby, in terms of chances created. Had Broadhead had his shooting boots on they'd have been 3-0 down at half time rather than it being 1-1. And yet when we lost to Leeds it was somehow as they had knocked us off our stride.

Fill the f**king place on Tuesday
at 18:35 2 Mar 2024

I know the kids have to get up for school, I know for some it's a long midweek journey, but this team and manager have earned us making a few sacrifices.

PS: I appreciate we do fill the place most weeks and there are only a few pockets of tickets left for Bristol City, but the point stands.

Crowds
at 12:45 26 Feb 2024

Yep. If you look at clubs like Cardiff City for example, it wasn't uncommon for them to get crowds under 6-7,000 for league games in the 1980s. The cultural impact of the 1990s on football post Italia 90, the redevelopment of stadiums etc, has seen crowds rise for everyone.

If were were regulars in Europe and challenging for titles/cups now like we were under Robson, we'd need a 40,000+ stadium

Bristol City up and coming
at 21:21 25 Feb 2024

As a Bristol resident I'll extend the hand of friendship,. Although you've probably realised Mark Ashton has done a superb job at our place. McKenna has transformed the club on the pitch and Ashton identified him and recruited him when Man Utd weren't particularly keen to let him go. Ashton has also turned the commercial side of the club into a moneymaking machine. We've broken shirt sale records twice since he's been here. Helps to have Ed Sheeran as the main sponsor.

Perspective: Most Ipswich fans would probably have taken a top 10 finish with signs of consolidation this season but we've exceeded expectations dramatically and have just passed the 72 points barrier. In a normal season we would be coasting to a top two place but we're the filling in a sandwich of parachute payment clubs so nothing is guaranteed. We'll be disappointed to miss out on a top two place but if we do, after the dust settles, the play-offs for a team that has just come up from League One will still be impressive.

Players: We score a lot thanks to players like Wes Burns, Connor Chaplin, Nathan Broadhead, George Hirst, Jeremy Sarmiento, Omari Hutchinson, Ali Al-Hamadi and Kieffer Moore. Losing Hirst to a hamstring injury slowed our momentum a bit and results tailed off in late December/early Jan but we recruited well in the window, getting Sarmiento, Moore and Al-Hamadi from Wimbledon. Since a surprise defeat at Preston we've drawn one and won four and it looks like "plucky little Ipswich" will carry on giving the relegated trio a run for their money.

As for matches v Bristol City I can't think much back beyond the one at Ashton Gate this season, and the ball rolling along our goal line in the second half but somehow staying out.

Please come to Portman Road and play nice, open football. We like that.

Also, just watched the section where Tuanzebe got booked for timewasting. Al Hamadi holds onto the ball for a while then throws it to Tuanzebe who is booked within seconds. Bizarre, if anything Al Hamadi should have been booked. A tiny detail in the big scheme of things but shows how poor Stroud is
