Town Takeover Close
at 16:22:29

So let's keep our feet on the ground.
1. This shows football is in a terrible financial state when the owner has to write-off 100M to make a sale
2. For those thinking there is a pot of gold coming......there is not.....this is an investment company that are using a pension fund to cover the cost of the debt, living in america this is how mergers and acquisitions occur for just about any takeover. This IS NOT a cash injection into the football club they will sell assets to maintain cash flow and increase value to sell for a profit.

Town Players Have Not Turned Down Wage Deferral
at 14:31:44

Some of the comments on here are just plain dumb....clearly some people that post on here have no sense of business operations.......point in fact from r2d2 - If you had backed the club in the 1st place we would not be a 1st league blah blah blah.......that makes no sense at all, no matter which league you are in your are feeling the effect of the business closure.....no matter which division you have No Income and Out-going expenses, the higher the league the bigger the expense vs income..... the same for IpswichBusiness.....Evans financial affairs and status as a collective group of companies has no bearing on the ITFC....and most of his listed income are assets not cash, so again no income, no cash to support expenses

It is all simple economics, but as he has the tag "billionaire" you all think this means cash in a bank account, that is not true, the vast majority of any billionaires portfolio are assets or shares in other companies, property etc. You don't become a billionaire by saving in your piggy bank.

Nice job Mr Evans for keeping the staff pay whole. Not something you had to do during this time and not what other clubs are doing.

That's perfect, will give the team a rest, recharge batteries for the future. Anytime you can get a freebie postponement and control the practice and travel schedules for the core squad you should take it.

Lankester to Undergo Surgery on Back Injury
at 18:56:31

@sickparrot...did some research as I was wondering that myself....this is what i found out in a medical journal....not common for us general folks, but appears young athletes still growing it is common

Spondylolysis refers to a stress fracture commonly found in the low back (lumbar vertebrae) that occurs in a small percentage of the general population. However, this condition is quite common in young athletes, particularly those whose bones are still growing and developing.

Town Closing in On Garbutt Loan
at 14:55:49

I have too laugh at the comments people continuously post....we don't need loan players, we need to buy players, we need to bring in at least # of players, Evans needs to put more money in the club.........let's look at what the manager has already stated many times this summer...his total squad is too big, he needs to remove some players FACT, there are no funds to buy players we have a 9M hole we have to fill FACT, Evans can't just plow money in to buy players for the FPP rules dictate income vs expenses being balanced FACT., lower league teams (and yes we are one) really on Loan players, even promoted teams to the premier league had Loan players last year FACT.....at some point fans need to understand the business economics of running the club as a business and not how it was in the 80's when it was more local/family owned and operated in different circumstances

St Mirren: No Contact From Sunderland Regarding Ross
at 15:06:12

Form New Sunderland Chairman.....Donald did rule out a number of names including returns for Chris Coleman, Mick McCarthy or any other former Sunderland boss, Neil Lennon, or handing either Black Cats hero Kevin Phillips or former Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard their first managerial roles, while ex-Newcastle United boss Alan Pardew was also discounted, as was the manager of Donald's former club Eastleigh, Richard Hill.

Something just doesn't feel right about this situation....there are reports out there that Sunderland are paying St Mirren 50k in compensation........an interesting twist considering ow Ross had portrayed himself the last couple of weeks.

Parker Among Interviewees
at 18:46:18

Not a bid idea, looks to be hungry and wants to succeed, which is a strong point. A little concerned about no experience, but then again you go back Bobby Robson had managed Fulham for about half a season before he got sacked....that turned out pretty darn good.
Thinking outside the box, Steve Nicol/Paul Mariner duo, did pretty good for NE Revolution for a number of years in MLS, transfer system and budget controls very different but limited so have experience with getting a lot out of little.

McCarthy: A Good Chance I'll Still Be at Town Next Season
at 21:21:45

Question - everyone on here wants a change, but nobody has a recommendation of who they want in....that a) would want to be here, b) has the ability to change the squad in what everyone will want in one season, c) have the pedigree and proven track record at this level.......suspect old names will be thrown out like usual.

Burnley 1-0 Town
at 14:42:33

living in the states 1st game I go to watch with it being on live tv here, but the players looked tired from the start. Bereft of ideas, I know most people will say MM is at fault for tactics, I don't disagree to a certain degree, but the players know what they need to do, they did not look hungry at all. Murphy was on an island, the midfield gave little support. Not sure exactly what Williams is supposed to do, good player, but often looked lost out there and the defensive looked out of sync, would prefer Chambers in the middle of the 3 with Berra and Smith either side.

McCarthy: Burnley's Promotion Thoroughly Deserved
at 04:19:54

so excited the game is being shown live in the US, will be the 1st game this year I have got to watch the boys play. I need us in the premier league to see them play every week over here. :-) This year maybe a push, great season, feel we need a keeper and cover at the back and a quick forward to exploit other teams. (no recommendations from me, 13yrs in the States you lose concept of up and coming players from lower leagues aside from what I get to read on the web)

Lets just say, Mings came on very Williams with just 13mins left to play (not 20-25), most teams in any league when leading by 1 and looking to secure a win typically bring on a defensive player with 10-15 mins to go.

Chief Executive Clegg to Leave Town
at 13:07:53

Actually find some of the comments to be quite funny, lets be honest all because Clegg is leaving does not mean we now close every deal or get every player we want....Evans still controls the budget and how we spend our money, especially if the FFP system coming into place. Lets also look if he was on 150k, that does not exactly buy you a lot of extra talent. Let's face it, the football scene is changing into something we have never had before, essentially a "salary cap" like American sports, many teams are going to go through a signinfcant change the next 18mths and the landscape will be so different.

No issues with this at all, ultimately football is a job, and like the rest of us that work....we have a life outside of our job so do players.....some "fans" struggle to see that, all because you are a player you should be 100% eat your greens, play football, don't lead a life outside of that....not how that works....never has never will
