Town's reserves fell to only their second defeat of the season as Norwich won the second string derby 3-1 at Carrow Road. Town remain 12 points clear at the top of the Pontin's Holidays Combination League East Division.

Vindicated midfielder George O'Callaghan is in action for the reserves at Norwich this evening (KO 7.30pm, Carrow Road). The Irishman was left out of the 16 facing Wolves last night as boss Jim Magilton had already settled on his side prior to the former Cork City man's red card being overturned.

Full-back David Wright accepted full blame for the goal which saw Wolves defeat the Blues 1-0 at Portman Road on Tuesday night. Wright's underhit back pass was seized upon by Stephen Ward, who scored the only goal of the game.

Town boss Jim Magilton once again bemoaned his side's lack of a cutting edge as the Blues lost 1-0 at home to Wolves. The visitors' goal came from an error by full-back David Wright, however, his manager felt the mistake was uncharacteristic of the former Wigan man.

Town fell to their fourth successive defeat as Stephen Ward's first half goal was enough see Wolves take three points away from Portman Road. The Blues enjoyed spells of domination but Owen Garvan's header off the cross bar was as near as the home side would come to a goal.

Striker Darryl Knights has joined Yeovil Town on loan until the end of the season. The 18-year-old has been on trial at Huish Park for the last fortnight.

Academy central defender Tommy Smith won his third England U17 cap earlier today as his side lost 3-1 to Germany at the Algarve Tournament. Smith started and played 73 minutes of the final game before being replaced.
