Town academy director Bryan Klug felt a 2-2 draw was a fair result from Monday's FA Youth Cup final first leg with Southampton at the St Mary's Stadium.

The Saints went ahead via a David McGoldrick penalty seconds before the break but two goals from Cathal Lordan put the Blues ahead prior to Leon Best's equaliser.

Town's U18s travel to Southampton tonight for the first leg of the club's first FA Youth final for 30 years (KO 7.45pm). The Blues will be without striker Billy Clarke who has a knee injury which he sustained late in the second leg of the semi-final with Spurs.

Town boss Joe Royle is undecided whether on-loan defender David Unsworth will be offered a permanent deal with the Blues at the end of the season. TWTD reported last week that Unsworth's loan must end after the Brighton game, meaning he will not be involved in the play-offs.

A late Darren Bent goal won the Blues a point from an entertaining 2-2 draw with Sunderland. All the goals came after the break, Marcus Stewart having missed an earlier penalty, Richard Naylor scoring for Town before Stephen Elliott and Carl Robinson put the visitors ahead prior to Bent's strike.
