Town dropped back into the Championship’s bottom three after Reading’s 3-1 victory at Crystal Palace on Wednesday evening. The Blues now sit in 22nd place behind Palace who also have 33 points but whose goal difference is nine better.

Daryl Murphy’s third goal in three games put Town in front with the Blues comfortable before the break but having missed chances, however, in the second half the Posh hit back with goals from Liam Dickinson, Lee Frecklington and Craig Morgan.

Town manager Roy Keane is hopeful that Sunderland won’t recall loan midfielder Jack Colback from his spell at Portman Road despite the Black Cats suffering a number of injuries. The Blues boss says he has been avoiding calls from Sunderland manager Steve Bruce just in case, however, Bruce himself says he's happy with the 20-year-old remaining at Town.
