Reports in Iceland say Town are continuing to monitor the progress of young central defender Eggert Stefansson. The FC Fram player was due to come to Portman Road for a trial at the beginning of last season but serious injury prevented his visit.

Tommy Miller, the 22 year old signing from Hartlepool has put pen to paper on a four-year deal. The new man was paraded at a press conference this afternoon.

Tommy Miller looks likely to become Town's first cash outlay of the summer if he passes a medical. Reports this afternoon say the Hartlepool player has agreed to join Town for an initial fee now thought to be ÂŁ750,000. The fee will rise to ÂŁ1 million depending on appearances etc.

Hartlepool's Tommy Miller is to have talks at Portman Road today after the two clubs agreed a fee, thought to be around ÂŁ800,000. But Town hope that this isn't where the spending is going to stop. George Burley has said that he is about to sign another, far higher profile player.

With the season only a few short weeks away Town have been hit by their first major injury worry. Matt Holland's ankle doesn't seemed to have healed properly after being injured in the Bolton away play-off. He hoped it would clear up over the summer, but it hasn't. If injections this week don't pay off then it could be surgery for the man who hasn't yet missed a agme for Town. With Town's squad so lacking in depth these days any serious injuries are major worries for Town. Expect that first loan signing of the season within days.
