Town chairman David Sheepshanks was re-elected to the Football League board at a meeting on Friday. Sheepshanks will represent Championship clubs along with Norwich City chief executive Neil Doncaster and Hull City chairman Adam Pearson.

Leagues One and Two will be represented by Nottingham Forest chief executive Mark Arthur, Karl Oyston, the chairman of Blackpool, and Wycombe Wanderers' chairman Ivor Beeks.

The announcements came on the same day as the high court dismissed the Football League's claim for £140 million against Edge and Ellison, their legal advisors in the ITV Digital affair, Mr Justice Rimer awarding the League just £4 in damages and ordered them to pay 90% of the legal firm's costs.

The claim centred around the lack of parent company guarantees in the £315 million contract drawn up with ITV Digital which meant that its owners Granada and Carlton were not liable for the £178.5 million remaining on the deal when ITV Digital went into administration in March 2002.

Sheepshanks was on the FA committee which drew up the tender document in early 2000 but resigned on June 1st after Town's promotion to the Premiership through the play-offs, two weeks before the deal with ITV Digital (then OnDigital) was sealed.

Football League chairman Lord Mawhinney says an appeal is being considered: "We are obviously disappointed by this verdict. Subject to considering possible grounds for appeal, the league will draw a line under this matter and move on."
