Garvan Absence Extended
Garvan Absence Extended

Midfielder Owen Garvan will be out of action for up to another month after a specialist reclassified his injury. The Irish youngster had appeared close to a return but his ankle problem is worse than first appeared.

Physio Dave Williams told the club site: "Owen has seen Mark Bowditch, the specialist we use for lower limb injuries, and he's had a good look at the ankle.

"It's been scanned again and the sprain is grade two rather than the grade one which we had hoped for.

"There is also a slight chip to the bone but that is only minor and Mark isn't concerned about that at all. With Owen's age, the bone is not yet fully mature anyway.

"We're probably looking at Owen being back playing again in two to four weeks the way things stand."
