The FA have made a pronouncement on the dispute between Town and Morecambe over ticket prices for the third round FA Cup tie at Christie Park. Town fans will pay £15 each for their 979 tickets, while the home fans will pay up to £25 with the majority of tickets at £20.

Town are much happier with this arrangement than their Lancashire counterparts. Their Chief Executive Rod Taylor said: "It's ridiculous. I have never known the FA to sanction a dual pricing system. Why should the the price of the tickets be reduced anyway? Our board will meet to consider the position and I expect we'll go back to the FA. Most of our fans are quite happy with what we are charging."

TWTD has learnt that Morecambe are also less than happy at Town taking the matter to the FA as they thought they had agreement from the Blues over the ticket prices. Apparently the percieved compliance and then non-compliance saw Morecambe call and then cancel a number of press conferences where ticket details were to be announced. Could we be headed for a Newcastle-Stevenage type fall-out between Town and Morecambe?

We have also learnt that Morecambe claim that their actions are not driven from purely financial reasons, but that they are putting people first by staging the game at Christie Park. They had the option of holding the game at Portman Road, but turned this down. They decided to raise their prices in order to make up for the financial shortfall.

Town are being linked with Scarborough's teenage midfield starlet David Pounder. Former Town corner and penalty wizard Neil Thompson is manager at the East Yorkshire club and he has spoken to George Burley about the player, although things have gone no further than that at this stage.
