Liam Craig, the captain of Town's FA Youth Cup-winning side, has been called into the Scotland squad for three UEFA U19 Championship finals qualifiers in Austria over the next week. The young Scots take on Greece, Slovakia and the Austrians in Group 5 of the elite qualifying round.

Midfielder Craig, from Chirnside in the Scottish borders, is eligible for England and Wales as well as Scotland but says there was no doubt where his loyalties lay: "With an English mother and Welsh grandfather I could have played for those two countries, but I could never imagine representing anyone but Scotland.

"Just talking about playing for Scotland, pulling on the shirt and singing Flower of Scotland makes the hairs on my neck stand up."

Scotland face Greece on Friday, Slovakia on Sunday and Austria on Tuesday. The winner of the group will qualify for the finals held in Northern Ireland in July.

Scotland U19 squad: Euan McLean (Dundee United), Sean Murdoch (Dunfermline Athletic), Steven Campbell (Rangers), Andrew Considine (Aberdeen), Scott Cuthbert (Celtic), Marc Fitzpatrick (Motherwell), Charles Mulgrew (Celtic), Tom Parratt (Birmingham City), Stuart Anderson (Blackpool), Robert Campbell (Kilmarnock), Derek Carcary (Rangers), Liam Craig (Ipswich Town), Rocco Quinn (Celtic), Martin Scott (Livingston), Robert Davidson (Rangers), Kyle Macaulay (Aberdeen), Ross McCormack (Rangers), Steven Naismith (Kilmarnock).
