Makin Mistake
Makin Mistake

Ex-Town full-back Chris Makin has admitted he made an error when he chose to leave the Blues in the summer. The 31-year-old was jeered and booed when he returned to Portman Road on Saturday with Leicester City.

The former Oldham, Marseille and Sunderland man was hopeful of gaining a Premiership contract with Bolton when he left Town without explanation, but in the end had to settle for a deal with Leicester City where he says he is on less money than he was with the Blues.

Makin says he probably made a mistake: "I had my reasons. Sometimes you make decisions in life and they don't work out and this is one of them.

"I can't say I regret it. I made a decision and I have to back myself, but you have to look at all the facts now and see it hasn't worked out."

Town boss Joe Royle had planned Makin to be his regular left-back this season and was disappointed not just that he moved on but that he did so in the manner in which he did.

Makin has not been a regular since joining the Foxes and was substituted during the second half of Saturday's game.
