Hogg Set for Darlington
Hogg Set for Darlington
Friday, 24th Sep 2004 00:09

Reserve defender Chris Hogg is set to join former Blue Alun Armstrong at League Two side Darlington. Hogg, whose Town contract is up at the end of the season, is being targeted by the Quakers who are keen to add to their defensive options.

The central defender or full-back has fallen behind in the pecking order at Portman Road since joining from York for a fee which depending on his progress could have risen as high as £150,000 in the summer of 2001.

Seen as a potential star of the future when he signed, Hogg, who had a spell on loan at Boston last season, now seems set to leave Portman Road on a free transfer at the end of his current deal.

In his time at Town he has received international calls at U19 and U20 level but with Premiership clubs not keen on releasing their players for those squads these have perhaps provided a false indication of his development.
