De Vos Getting Started

New Town signing Jason De Vos has arrived in Suffolk after international duty with Canada and is looking forward to meeting his new team-mates when pre-season training starts on Monday.

De Vos is being allowed to miss some of the more taxing work towards the beginning of the 2004/05 preparations after his season with Canada stretched into June.

The Canadian captain said: "The coaches are a bit concerned that I will become over-tired too early as I have not had much of a summer break from playing. They are devising a special programme for me but I still can't wait to meet the rest of the guys."

Canada's lengthy CONCACAF World Cup qualifying programme has been a concern amongst Town fans, however, the former Dundee United and Wigan man hopes this will not get in the way of him playing for the Blues: "I don't want to miss any games if I can help it and all our qualifying games are at the same time as the European groups.

"It will be difficult for us to go through but we are capable of doing it. It is a tough task because the teams in our group may not be big footballing countries but they are very hostile places to play football and the referees give you nothing."
