Club Chaplain Appointed
Club Chaplain Appointed
Wednesday, 20th Sep 2000 13:30

Town have appointed a new club chaplain, the Reverend Kevan McCormack. The position is an honorary one and David Sheepshanks welcomed the appointment: "I’m very pleased that Kevan McCormack has been able to take on this role, combining it with his many other responsibilities. This is an important supportive position both for the Club generally and especially for our Academy players where pastoral care is an essential component of daily life."

The Reverand McCormack has previously worked as School Chaplain and Housemaster of the Senior Boys House at the Royal Hospital School, Holbrook and is currently Rector of St Mary’s Church, Woodbridge. Of his new job he said: "I am delighted to be asked to support the club in this way and I look forward to helping in those areas that I can and to becoming a part of life at the club."

Work continues on the South Stand (sorry Churchman's), with the piling now complete. By the end of next week concrete will be in place for the bases for the stand's steelwork.

Also being worked on in the next few weeks are the floodlights. Part of the development sees four new floodlights with the new towers for the North Stand lights the first to be erected. This will be carried out in the first week of October and will lead to some road closures. No games will be affected by this.

Work will also begin on the new floodlights for the practice pitch.
