Ryder Retires Wednesday, 1st Oct 2003 12:04 Town director Lord Ryder has officially announced his retirement from the club's board. Ryder, a former Tory chief whip, has been a Town director for four years. Ryder, perhaps the most regular away supporter amongst the directors, had always planned to be on the Town board for around a four year period, but it has been reported that he was not always in agreement with the wider board. The deputy chairman of the BBC says he will remain a committed follower the club: "I have supported Ipswich Town for 44 years and will continue to do so. I may have left the board but I remain a supporter." Serco chief Kevin Beeston joined the board recently with further new faces expected in the next few months.
