Play-Off Date Switch

The EFL has announced a switch of date for one of the Championship play-off semi-finals.

The fifth-v-fourth game which was set to be played on Monday 13th May with an 8pm kick-off will now be played on Sunday 12th May with a 2.15pm start, following the sixth-v-third match at 12.30pm.

The move is apparently due to a clash with the Aston Villa-Liverpool Premier League match at Villa Park with nearby West Brom currently fifth. The other games will be played as previously scheduled.

Town are currently third in the table but could still finish fourth.

Reminds me of the time our lge cup semi-final against Birmingham had to be moved because of a Villa Premier League game. Leading to it being about the only semi-final in the past 4 or 5 decades not to be televised (cos couldn't displace Man U v Sunderland in the league on Sky could it?).

I also wonder if this is slight nervousness about a more realistic possibility of an East Anglian derby as the 4th v 5th game. They even had a special stipulation before the end of the season in 2015 to ensure Ipswich v Norwich had to be the 12.30 sunday game regardless of finish, rather than an exciting time under the lights ..

Europablue added 16:18 - Apr 23 The Norwich police probably fixed it so that all matches are 12:30 because they know we're at our worst then for some reason. It's not such a dangerous fixture that it couldn't be held on a weeknight!

VanDusen added 16:30 - Apr 23 Blues1 - agree, you're probably right and I'm paranoid. But I wouldn't be surprised if the 2nd leg gets moved to Sat 18th 12.30pm if the worst happens.
