Blue Action to Stage Derby Coach Welcome
Wednesday, 6th Dec 2023 20:18

Town independent supporters group Blue Action are organising a coach greeting ahead of the derby against Norwich City at Portman Road on Saturday 16th December (KO 12.30pm).

The Blues will be looking to beat the Canaries for the first time since 2009.

Blue Action previously staged a hugely successful welcome for the squad ahead of the final home game of last season, the 6-0 hammering of Exeter City which secured promotion back to the Championship.

Fans are being encouraged congregate in time to meet the team coach as it arrives at Sir Alf Ramsey Way and Constantine Road at around 11am.

We want to ramp up the atmosphere at PR to new heights. To make it’s as uncomfortable as possible for scum fans and their team. Let’s BE intimidating as possible. Let’s give their
Players the bird every time they come near the SBR. Let’s drown out their names being Announced and that stupid f u king song of theirs.

It's a dark world.
This is a bit of fun and community. In the words of Dylan "Don't think twice, It's alright"

I'm with @Regency Blue on this one.

Would it not be better to save this event until after the game, as a celebration and recognition of a fantastic club and its supporters.

I don't think the players will need any further encouragement, and as a man will be up for the challenge.

We all know too well that current form goes out the window when it comes to derby games, my concern is (and as much as none of us want it) we could actually loose the game. Can you image what the media (especially Look East and EDT) will do, ITFC supporters and the club would be a laughing stock, we'd end up on TV screens across the nation for days and days after the match.

Could this not also be conceived as putting unwanted pressure on KMc and the guys before what is undoubtedly the biggest game of the season.

I suppose at the end of the day if you want to support this event that's up to each individual and anything anyone else says is immaterial. I myself will be shouting my support for the guys will be from within the ground as is always the case.

Excellent idea but at the risk of being 'that guy' please don't leave all your 5 hit all over the road particularly glass bottles like Exeter

This is simple, if you want to be part of it go ahead if not don’t. Same as singing TBH, you are a singer or not (very badly in my case).

Either way it doesn’t make you a better or worse supporter.

The great aspect about the club is we have a very wide demographic of supporters who support the club but gain their enjoyment for different reasons.

There is a choice so be thankful for that even though you might not agree with it :-)

I think liverpool fans do it for important games. Choose your own definition of important..but it doesn't seem to do any harm and they dobn’t get panned for it if they lose. Home atmosphere is an advantage in whatever form i guess so good on them for trying something.

If fans want to do it then fine. Personally I find it unnecessary and pointless. The exeter game was a special occasion, with promotion on the line that day. Yes, this is a big game, but at the end of the day, it's just another 3 points at stake. Imagine thr embarrassment if fans do this, and we were to lose 4 or 5 nil? Yes, Liverpool do it, but for big champions lge games or games against their main rival for
the pl title towards the end of the season. Not for just a local derby with, in effect, nothing on it other than the bragging rights for the winning teams fans. As I say, not against it but don't see the point. Just my opinion tho. And let's hope it doesn't end up in violence, bcse im sure norwich fans have seen this on fb, so could easily cause issues. Hopefully not tho.
